Sterile Surgical Systems is a leading accredited healthcare laundry service provider to the Pacific Northwest’s healthcare industry and is the only FDA-registered medical textiles sterilization company in the Pacific Northwest. Headquartered in Tacoma, WA, the company provides mission-critical laundry services to hospitals throughout the region.  We have recently expanded in both new and existing markets.

We are seeking to hire a versatile, resourceful, fast-learning Controller that is well versed in developing an accounting department from the ground up – architecting the processes, systems and the Team to grow and scale with SSS. The person in this role is expected to manage and oversee the Company's finance, accounting, treasury, payroll, and external audit process, as well as contributing and working collaboratively with all elements of day-to-day operations. This position provides significant growth opportunities within the organization, with a clear path toward becoming VP of Finance/CFO.

Experience and qualifications include but are not limited to:

  • Minimum of 5 years of increasingly responsible, hands-on accounting management or similar financial management position experience required.
  • BS or BA in accounting or equivalent degree required, with CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Ability to oversee the accurate and timely processing or reporting of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, cash control, fixed assets records, debt management, inventory management, and all compliance reporting.
  • Proven track record in financial leadership with detailed experience in strategic planning, tax planning, risk management and cash flow strategies.
  • Mastery of generally accepted accounting principles, financial statement presentation, budgeting, financial analysis and internal controls.
  • Ability to develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ability to provide fair-minded and competent financial, personal and managerial leadership.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to management, owners, board of directors, employees, customers, vendors and compliance authorities fostering consensus and cooperation.

Compensation range is between $100,000-130,000 plus an opportunity for an annual bonus, depending on experience and performance.  Benefits include medical/dental/vision insurance coverage, 401(k), and PTO. Partial remote-work arrangements will be considered.
