OR Clinical Supervisor
OR Clinical Supervisor Full Time, Days
Monday- Friday (8 hour shifts)
Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Surgical Services Director, the Clinical Supervisor directs and coordinates the daily activities of peri-operative clinical activities working in OR to provide continuity of quality nursing services. The position provides patient care expertise through the coordination, direction and education of nursing staff, in addition to assuring that patient's needs are met through adequate daily staffing of the department. The Clinical Supervisor collaborates with the Director to improve the overall performance of the department. Acts as a liaison to the medical staff and other departments. Covers for the Director in her/his absence.
Requirements: Completion of post secondary education in nursing; current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska; 5-8 years of acute care hospital experience in OR and prior experience in a nursing leadership role. Basic management skills are required, e.g., knowledge of budgeting, quality, performance improvement, regulations. Skilled at obtaining consensus, promoting participative behavior in staff and fostering collaboration in the department. Needs BLS, ACLS, PALS & CNOR certifications.
