Join our team as a Behavior Analyst in Yakima, WA, This position provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services, designing and implementing individual treatment plans based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. Directs and supports the professional development of the Certified Behavior Technicians and Licensed Assistant Behavior Analyst positions through applied training and evaluation. Provides assessment and treatment to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities.

This position is located at Children's Village, which provides care to children with special health and developmental needs and their families.

As a Behavior Analyst you have the opportunity to:

  • Provides oversight and guidance to Certified Behavior Technicians regarding data collection, treatment goals and the implementation of treatment plans.
  • Facilitates weekly training development meetings with Certified Behavior Technicians and completes the Supervision Forms based on program requirements.
  • Provides clinical direction and oversight to the Licensed Assistant Behavior Analyst position regarding their intake assessments, individualized goal planning, treatment plans, and behavior change plans.
  • Provides guidance to the Licensed Assistant Behavior Analyst position on the Functional Behavior Assessment/Analysis, development of specific program based objectives, implementation of Individualized Direct Services, and parent trainings they perform.
  • Provides feedback to Psychiatric staff about compliance and effectiveness of prescribed medications.
  • Completes the analysis with information from the intake assessment and develops an initial behavior change plan. Reviews and updates the intake assessment and initial behavior change plan on a regular basis.
  • Completes a Functional Behavior Assessment/Analysis (FBA) and presents findings to appropriate professionals.
  • Identifies and documents indirect and direct data on target behaviors and analyzes collection results to determine function of the target behaviors.
  • Develops a Behavior Reduction Protocol to decrease target behaviors based on the FBA and reviews plan with guardians and teachers if client is within the school setting.
  • Designs and implements individualized programs to develop alternative behaviors based on the Behavior Reduction Protocol.
  • Creates individualized goals and develops short and long term objectives based on specific programs that were specified in the initial intake and initial behavior change plan. Measures client’s progress and adjusts programs as needed.
  • Participates in various community meetings to develop cross-system planning and/or collaborate with treatment professionals.
  • Completes all Behavior Health Services (BHS) and/or funder required documentation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Performs clinical responsibilities in alignment with The Joint Commission (TJC), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and YVFWC requirements.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Psychology, Behavioral Analysis, Developmental Psychology, or Special Education. Education must include a minimum of 250 hours of instruction in behavior analysis.
  • Experience: Two years' experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Washington State License as Behavior Analyst (LBA) and/or Board certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA). First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification within 45 days of hire. HIV/AIDS training within 45 days of hire. Right Response certification within six months of hire. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprints required can be obtained within 45 days of hire.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required or Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate at level 10 on the language proficiency scale to receive bilingual differential pay. Knowledge of the principals of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Knowledge of initial intake assessments such as the Basic Learning and Language Assessment (ABLLS), and Verbal Behavior Milestone Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP). Knowledge of how to create a treatment plan along with individualized goals. Ability to effectively interact with a variety of clients, families and employees in a professional manner. Knowledge of how to access local community agencies and resources. Knowledge of cultural differences and ability to work effectively with culturally diverse populations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Advanced conflict resolution and de-escalation skills. Ability to handle sensitive situations and confidential information with discretion. Basic proficiency with a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
