Deputy City Attorney
The City of Bothell is looking for an articulate, inquisitive, and detail-oriented professional lawyer to be our next Deputy City Attorney. The successful candidate will enjoy sinking their teeth into legal challenges facing a growing municipality. This individual should have the skills necessary to be able to research and interpret City code, contracts, statutes, state and federal legislation and other laws and legal documents, and then articulate a legal strategy that protects the interests of the City. In order to be successful, the incumbent must be able to build relationships and collaborate at all levels of a public organization.
We are specifically seeking an attorney who has experience and/or knowledge in municipal law with a focus on land use, growth management, the environment, public records and contract review. The Deputy City Attorney acts on behalf of the City attorney at times and when needed. Applicants should have a desire to seek knowledge and a willingness to learn and grow. We are also looking for a leader who embraces diversity and understands why the inclusion of all races and backgrounds is an important value for our organization and community.
NOTE: Interviews are scheduled to be held virtually on Thursday, September 17.
Requirements:
Juris Doctorate (JD) degree required; municipal law experience with a focus on land use, growth management, the environment, public records, and contract review is preferred.
