Senior Building Inspector
The City of Bothell Community Development Department is looking for a collaborative, efficient building inspection professional with excellent communication skills to perform residential and commercial building inspections in line with the Department's mission of promoting a community that celebrates its history, embraces its present, and envisions its future.
What will this person do?
- Performs building, mechanical, and plumbing inspections on various residential, commercial, and industrial structures to ensure compliance with standards are being met within established building codes
- Interpret and reasonably apply state and city codes and regulations
- Maintains and updates inspection records ensuring accuracy and clarity
What does this person need to be successful?
- High School diploma or GED
- 3 years of experience as a Building Inspector
- Ability to manage and deal with conflict and remain positive in contentions situations to de-escalate potential disputes
- Technical understanding of how to apply building codes to development/construction projects
- Ability to explain and articulate complex technical terms in a manner that is easily understood and explains decision making while maintaining a high level of customer service
- Respects the perspective of individuals from all backgrounds and embraces the diversity of the Bothell community
