The City of Ellensburg has a vacancy in our Community Development Department for a Housing & Grants Administrator.
The Administrator will perform high-level professional work focused on housing projects and management of department grants and related projects.
This position will manage the City’s affordable housing projects such as implementation of the Housing Action Plan, and will research, prepare, and manage grants for the Community Development Department.
The person in this position will work closely with the Affordable Housing Commission to fund projects that could ease pressures on housing affordability and serves as the City liaison to other departments and community agencies on issues related to housing policy, implementation of City housing goals, and monitoring all housing-related development applications.
The position coordinates the utilization of revenue generated by the sales tax for housing and related services and other income specific to housing, including identifying, managing, and administering grants awarded to the City for housing-related benefits and purposes. Additional responsibilities include advocating for utilizing the City’s code incentives to support housing, providing support to community housing groups and agencies actively working on adding housing units, and other duties as assigned.
This is a full-time benefited position. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance. Retirement under the Washington State Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), VEBA, Paid Time Off (PTO), holidays, exempt leave, and employee choice days.
Salary: $6,547 - $7,408/month, FLSA Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Finance, Business, Project Management, Social Sciences, or other related field.
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in planning, program management, affordable housing programs, community housing, public policy, project management, real estate finance or development, business administration, grant management, or economic development.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License with insurable driving record
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree in a related field
- American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Certification
- Bilingual English/Spanish
