The City of Ellensburg has a vacancy for a full-time Temporary Construction Project Manager. This position is grant-funded and will terminate on December 31, 2024. Pending funding, this position may be extended.
This position does receive benefits which includes medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance Retirement under the Washington State Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), VEBA, Paid Time Off (PTO), holidays, exempt leave, and employee choice days.
The Temporary Construction Project Manager is assigned to oversee the City’s public works projects funded by the American Rescue Plan Act and other capital infrastructure projects to ensure that all project and program goals are met. The Project Manager will also assist other City departments with preparation of design documents, environmental processes, bidding, and construction of capital infrastructure projects and programs.
The person in this position will organize, direct, and supervise the design, permitting, bidding, construction, and commissioning of the City’s capital infrastructure projects. The Project Manager has responsibility for all aspects of the capital infrastructure projects and will be expected to work closely with the City’s design professionals and successful contractors to complete the projects on time and within budget.

Salary: $9,719- $10,997/month + excellent benefits – FLSA Exempt
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering or related field of study. Eight plus (8+) years’ experience in general construction and/or building project management on large scale projects. Ability to read blueprints, structural drawings and plan sets. Advanced understanding of risk management policies and procedures. Extensive experience managing budgets for large construction projects and a strong knowledge of construction materials, processes and equipment. In addition, experience in managing federally funded projects is preferred.
Professional Engineering or Architecture License in Washington State is desirable, but not required for this position.
