Summary

The Kirkland Parks and Community Services Department is seeking a Facility Lead staff for weekend rentals at the North Kirkland Community Center. This is a permanent part-time position. Duties include maintains records, sets up and takes down equipment, tables, and chairs. Responsible for providing outstanding customer service to patrons in all environments. Responsible for opening and closing facilities and supervising customers during weekend and weeknight rentals.

Acts as on-site City representative for recreation programs, activities and rentals. Performs miscellaneous clerical tasks such as updating posters, fliers and facility schedules. Perform minor maintenance and cleaning as needed.Lead staff and act as point person to participants and/or renters. Monitor the facility, assist customers and instructors, open and close facility, and make written and verbal reports to Recreation Coordinator or Recreation Manager. Current opening is working with our youth basketball program on Saturday mornings. Potential shifts are 7am-6pm Saturdays January-April.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Six months of prior experience with public contact and/or customer service required.

2. Must be at least 18 years of age.

3. Must have or be able to obtain first aid/CPR certification by start date.

4. Must successfully complete a thorough background check as required by the Child/Adult Abuse Information Act.

5. Must have ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

-Prior experience working with rental facilities.

-Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills and CivicRec registration software program experience.

Hours of Work

Work takes place at the North Kirkland Community Center.

We are currently seeking a staff for the following shifts:

-Occasional Friday evenings 5pm-10pm

-Frequent Saturday afternoons and evenings 8:30am-1:30pm based on rental schedule

-Sundays 9am-1pm

-Hours may be offered as need arises on weeknights 4:30-10:00pm. Attendants may be offered work at other City of Kirkland facilities

Candidates who are selected to interview will be required to complete a Criminal History Release Form and an RCW Supplemental Questionnaire.

Working Conditions & Physical Activities

Work is performed in varied locations within City of Kirkland facilities with high levels of noise and seasonal temperature extremes.

Must be able to walk, climb, bend, and stoop to complete tasks. Must be able to perform basic janitorial and inventory related tasks.
