The Human Resources Analyst performs a variety of routine and complex technical and professional work in analyzing and administering functional areas of the City's Human Resource policies and programs. Functional areas include: recruitment, employee relations, benefits, compensation, position classification, labor relations, training, and performance management. Assignments and projects in these functional areas will vary between analysts and may change from time to time. Communicates accurate and timely information to Payroll; conducting research and analysis on various HR related and special projects. Performs other duties as assigned by Director of Human Resources.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Business or Public Administration with emphasis in Human Resources or related discipline, plus 4 years progressively responsible human resource experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Must have excellent oral and written communications skills and advanced interpersonal and customer service skills. Must be able to research, compile, and objectively analyze data. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. This position requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Preferred Qualifications- At least five years of recent professional experience
- Public sector Human Resources experience a plus
- Current PHR or SPHR designation desirable
- Substantial experience with HRIS / HR/Payroll processes
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience of compensation and job analysis
Special Note
This position includes health benefit package: medical/dental/vision for employee and dependents. This is a 12 month funded position.
Hours of Work
Core business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. Work schedule to be determined upon job offer based upon coverage and departmental needs.
Working Conditions & Physical Activities
Work is performed in a typical office environment. Work is fast-paced with frequent interruptions from phone calls and staff. Incumbent is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time while performing keyboard functions. Occasional attendance at meetings outside normal business hours required. Must be able to lift weights up to 30 pounds. |
