Summary
Provide communication and educational outreach to Kirkland residents regarding pet licenses. Canvass designated neighborhoods by going door-to-door using list of possible pet owners. Primary work duties include:
- Provide "soft" public education effort regarding pet licensing requirements in Kirkland
- Issue temporary pet licenses as needed
- Utilize mobile tablet/credit card device for sales of temporary pet licenses
Hours of Work
Must have the ability to work weekends in May, June, July, August, and September (Saturday and Sunday) from approximately 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Training for work assignment provided in mid May. Project anticipated to go into September.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Must be age 18 or older
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Customer service skills
- Accurate data entry, record-keeping abilities
- Must successfully complete a thorough background check as required by the Child/Adult Abuse Information Act
Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop for duration of work shift. Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions. Exposure to extended periods of sunlight and hot temperatures and/or cool and damp weather is possible. Pet License Neighborhood Canvassers will wear a uniform with a City of Kirkland logo, and have a City I.D. card.

Candidates who are selected to interview will be required to complete a criminal background check.
