Parking Enforcement Officer - City of Kirkland ( Job # 19-0113)

Minimum Salary: $3,833.00 per month
Maximum Salary: $4,786.00 per month

Summary

Performs parking enforcement in accordance with the laws in designated areas of the City.  Interacts with general public and business district to ensure parking compliance and enhance public relations.    Liaison between the Department and downtown business and citizens concerning parking issues and concerns.   Testifies in court relative to the issuance of parking citations when required.  Prepares daily parking enforcement affidavit of citations written for the court. 


Minimum Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalency.   Physically able to walk to cover assigned area.    Ability to operate a hand held computer and ability to operate a motor vehicle.    Good public relations skills, ability to clearly communicate and deal with upset people.   Must have a valid Washington State Driver's License.

Must be able to obtain a police security clearance including polygraph, psychological, and background prior to hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous parking enforcement experience at a law enforcement agency desirable.

Hours of Work

Shift assignment is currently under review.

Working Conditions & Physical Activities

Must be able to perform duties in inclement weather.    May drive or walk assigned enforcement area.     Occasionally works in the office at a desk for filing or computer entry work.     Required to wear uniform in performance of duties.
