Summary
This position acts as the lead staff person at each camp or lessons site. Works directly with the sport coordinator to produce program content. Instruct children and/or adults in a variety of levels of tennis. Prepare specific lesson plans and work with the coordinator to create overall goals of the program. Must have excellent customer service and organizational skills. Coordinate class content with coworker(s) and supervisor. Evaluate and correct skill deficiencies in students. Maintain a safe and orderly class structure. Maintain class records. Handle first aid emergencies as necessary.
Hours of Work
Must be available Monday through Thursday and occasionally Friday. Possible shifts are: 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m and 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Programs run from June 23 through August 23, 2019.
Special Note
The position may work non-standard workweeks and shifts, including split shifts and evenings. Staff will work at Peter Kirk Park Tennis Courts.

1. Must have 6 months of related teaching experience.
2. Must have or be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification by start date.
3. Must successfully complete a thorough background check as required by the Child/Adult Abuse Information Act.
4. Must be age 18 or older.
Two years experience teaching tennis to children and/or adults. Sufficient knowledge and understanding of the game of tennis to teach and coach effectively. Familiarity and knowledge of the principles of "The QuickStart” USTA Tennis Program.
Working Conditions & Physical ActivitiesWork is performed in outdoor tennis courts with varying weather conditions. Must be able to lift, walk, bend, stoop, stand, and run for duration of work.
