Youth Basketball Officials - Youth Basketball League - City of Kirkland ( Job # 19-0118)

Minimum Salary: $12.00 per hour
Maximum Salary: $15.04 per hour

Summary

Officiate youth basketball for boys and girls, grades 3 through 6. Set up and break down equipment prior to and following games. Provide first aid when necessary; maintain a clean, safe, and orderly facility.  Officiating training will be provided in December.

Information on officials training will be provided upon application review.  Training dates will be in December on weekends.  Attendance will be mandatory.  Basketball experience is not required, but is preferred.

Candidates are encouraged to apply ASAP.  While final selection will not occur until after closing, screening and interviewing may commence prior to the closing date.

Hours of Work

Games take place on Saturdays, January 11-March 14 at Kirkland and Kamiakin Middle School.  There will be two available shifts, 8am-1pm or 1pm-6pm.  Full day shifts available upon request and/or staff needs.  Hours are flexible, the AM or PM time slot is negotiable, and staff will be assigned on an as needed basis.  Please contact Max Prophet, mprophet@kirklandwa.gov for information on work hours and flexible dates.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Must be age 15 or older.  Must have or be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification by start date.  Applicants who are offered a position must successfully complete a thorough background check as required by the Child/Adult Abuse Information Act.

Working Conditions & Physical Activities

Gymnasium (indoor) work which requires ability to run and keep alert in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.  Work is performed off-site in one of our community parks or a Lake Washington School District facility with high noise levels and seasonal temperature extremes.

Applicants who are invited to participate in the interview process will be notified by phone or email. Applicants who submit certification documentation with the City Application will receive first consideration.

Candidates who are selected to interview will be required to complete a criminal background check.
