Development Services Coordinator

The City of Medina is in a beautiful setting along the shore of Lake Washington and adjacent to Bellevue. We have some of the most interesting projects you will find anywhere, and the Development Services Coordinator is an integral part. 

Annual Salary Range: $65,196 - $74,436 (wage scale increase under review)

POSIION SUMMARY

This is a full-time position under general direction of the Development Services Director. This position performs technical work processing permit applications, and a wide range of supporting administrative duties.  Customer service, organization, and problem solving are daily activities.  This position also supports our Planning Commission at one meeting per month. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Can-do attitude, willingness to learn.
  • Superb customer service skills.
  • Microsoft Office products knowledge and experience necessary to perform the essential job functions.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, both written & verbal.
  • Ability to set a schedule and meet timelines.
  • Can establishing effective professional relationships.
  • Ability to remain organized, despite frequent interruptions.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Permitting software experience.
  • Principles and procedures of record keeping and reporting.
  • Ability to research and explain regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Any combination of experience and training equivalent to graduation from high school, plus three years of increasingly responsible related experience. An A.A. degree or Bachelor of Arts degree is preferred.
  • C.B.O certification as a Permit Technician, or similar industry-recognized Certification.
  • Experience working in a public agency planning, building, or engineering department.
  • Knowledge of database software and other computer applications.
