Seattle Information Technology is seeking candidates for a FULL-TIME position as HRIS Support Developer, (ITP-B BU).
The role reports to the HR and Finance Applications Team Manager and provides technical support to time & labor and payroll applications. In this role, the HRIS Support Developer will work with Application Developers, Business Analysts and other IT professionals. In this position you will collaborate with other departments at the City of Seattle and maintain applications, interfaces, databases, and technical infrastructure. Successful candidates will have a proven background in database management, be detail driven, and have excellent problem solving and communication skills. You should not only be passionate about delivering innovative IT solutions but should also be obsessed with continuous improvement, contributing to the development of high-performing teams and individuals.
Job Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities may include:
- Provide technical support to time & labor applications.
- Support heavily customized payroll processes that ensure timely delivery of payroll data for the City of Seattle.
- Provide Incident Management support when outages or incidents occur for supported technologies and ensure that support meets service level expectations.
- Collaborate between the HR & Finance Application teams, other IT teams within the Apps Division (TI teams, Security team etc.) as well as citywide departments (FAS) to resolve issues with payroll processing.
- Ensure support and maintenance of applications owned by the team.
- Communicate optimally with Citywide customers on technical and business tasks.
- Assist with modernization efforts and transitioning to newer technologies.
- Perform multifaceted job assignments commensurate with the ITP-B level.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
NOTE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered for the required qualifications.
- Minimum of three years of experience as an application developer.
- Minimum three years’ experience in database management with SQL/Oracle products, including cloud-based offerings.
- Demonstrable experience in an object-oriented programming language.
- Proven experience in a scripting language (PowerShell, Autosys etc.).
- Demonstrated knowledge of Unix.
- Ability to work independently and manage time well to meet deliverable/project achievements, while maintaining appropriate communications with the manager about progress and issues.
- Ability to effectively work in a multi-cultural workplace with a diverse customer base.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with SQR, PL/SQL.
- Experience with COBOL.
- Experience with payroll processes in large organizations (ADP, Workday knowledge preferred).
- Prior experience in Information Technology.
- Ability to thrive in upbeat, fast-paced organization with high expectations for service delivery and professional staff standards.
- Complete discretion and ability to work with confidential information.
- Flexible with the ability to work with changing schedules and priorities.
- Self- motivated with desire to grow within the organization.
- Culturally aware and have experience in supporting a diverse team.
