Position Overview

Responsible for maintenance of City streets and right-of-ways in a safe and efficient manner while performing duties ranging from laboring activities requiring extended physical exertion to semi-skilled and skilled tasks requiring manipulative skills.  Operates and maintains a variety of heavy equipment, hand and power tools.  Duties vary in frequency depending upon the season, maintenance program, climatic conditions and City or customer needs. 

Qualification Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two years of full-time equivalent experience performing street maintenance techniques including operating and using related equipment and materials.
  • Current WA CDL Class A Driver License (tanker endorsement/air brake restriction removed).
  • Must obtain a Washington State Flagging Card and First Aid/CPR Certification within six months of hire and maintain throughout employment.
  • Washington State Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) and International Municipal Sign Association (IMSA) Sign and Pavement Marking Level I Certifications desired.
  • Washington State Public Pesticide Applicator License desired.
