Information Technology Technician
The Information Technology Technician is responsible for supporting computing and telecommunication network operations and procedures. The Technician works within a team environment to support personal computers, thin clients, peripheral equipment, networks, communications equipment, and providing support for users' software and hardware needs. In addition, the Technician will provide end-user technical support and answer questions, build and deploy client machines, set up, test, install and upgrade workstations, troubleshoot PC and thin client hardware and software, create and maintain hardware and software inventories.

Education
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Associate’s degree in Information Technology or related field or in lieu of degree, a combination of equivalent education and work experience.
Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field.
Experience
• Information Technology experience with software and hardware (2 years).
• Installation and support of LAN/WAN network systems (2 years).
• Desktop support experience (2 years).
• Familiarity with TCP/IP and Ethernet networks.
Preferred:
• Experience with Healthcare information systems: Practice Management (PM), Electronic Health Record (EHR), Image Control Systems (ICS), Electronic Dental Record (EDR).
CredentialsPreferred:
• Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) or equivalent certification.
• A+ Certified.
• N+ Certified.
Other
• Driver's license with the State of Washington.
• Motor vehicle insurance liability policy, a certificate of deposit, or a liability bond to the required limits.
Job Specific Functions/Performance Expectations:
1. Troubleshoots, repairs, maintains, installs, and performs testing activities on various computer equipment, peripherals, data communication, and computer network systems.
2. Completes work orders such as installing, connecting and moving equipment.
3. Configures and sets PC’s and thin clients to work with various software and peripherals.
4. Responds to users requests for technical assistance. Rotates as an on call helpdesk technician as schedule dictates.
5. Installs, maintains, monitors and updates various software utilized on the network.
6. Responds to the needs and questions of network users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programs.
7. Consults with IT department team to solve system solutions consistent with organizational objectives.
8. Executes tasks related to network hardware and software acquisition, use, support, security and backup.
9. Performs preventive maintenance for computers, thin clients, data communication, and/or peripheral equipment.
10. Maintains security and confidentiality of all data proprietary to the organization.
11. Assists other staff or Managers in repairing, installing and testing complex pieces of equipment or local area networks.
12. Analyzes complex business needs presented by the user community and/or clients and recommends technical solutions.
13. Confers with manufacturer's representatives, faculty, and staff in determining equipment and software needs.
14. Assists with management of NextGen Accounts, Active Directory accounts and security.
15. Creates and maintains hardware and software inventories to include the processing and elimination of obsolete systems.
16. Adheres to attendance standards in order to perform the job functions for daily operations and/or continuity of patient care.
