The position is a 100% time, 9-month per year special faculty appointment, plus possible summer appointment based on program need.The position is located on the campus of the University Center at the WSU Building in Everett, WA and reports to the Chair/Director of the School of Social Work at the Cheney campus.Eastern Washington University is a growing and dynamic public university co-located in Cheney and Spokane with an enrollment of over 10,000 students and offers over 100 degree programs including baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral degrees. The School of Social Work is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and includes full-time BASW and MSW programs, and MSW programs located at sites throughout Washington State. The programs prepare students for generalist and advanced generalist social work practice in both rural and urban communities. The School also includes the Center for Aging Studies, Addiction Studies, Children's Studies, Disability Studies, and the Child Welfare Training and Advancement Program (CWTAP), a statewide training and educational partnership with the University of Washington and Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families.Job Responsibilities:• The Director of the Everett part-time hybrid MSW program is the on-site program administrator and teaches courses on-site and online. The position supervises the program support staff at the Everett site.• The Director implements the policies and procedures for the part-time MSW program in compliance with the School of Social Work, the EWU College of Professional Programs, Graduate Studies, and Eastern Washington University.• The Director works in partnership with the Director/Chair of the School of Social Work the Graduate Program Director, and the Director of Field Education to ensure MSW program compliance with the Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS) of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).See Job Duties section for detailed description of the position's responsibilities.Position is open until further notice; screening will begin 01/4/2022; applications will continue to be accepted after that date and until further notice on our website.Required Qualifications:• MSW from a Council on Social Work Education accredited program• Two years of post-MSW experience in social work practice• Knowledge of the CSWE Educational Policy on Accreditation Standards• Demonstrated skills and advanced practice knowledge to teach graduate social work courses• Demonstrated skills to engage multiple constituencies for program support and collaboration• Strong commitment to diversity and social justice• Basic computer skills including word processing, database, spreadsheets, email, and the Canvas online course platform or other forms of distance technologies• Ability to work independently• Demonstrated ability to apply a culturally responsive and flexible approach that is supportive to the diverse needs, including universal access, of our students, faculty, staff, and the public.Preferred Qualifications:• Experience in providing student support services (i.e., assisting students with writing, Canvas usage)• Excellent communication and networking skills• Experience in social work field education, including arrangement of practicum placements• Experience in program administrationOther Skills and Abilities:• Flexibility• Collaboration• Communication• Teamwork• Time Management• Attention to DetailJob Duties:% of Time: 100Responsibility / Duty: Typical Director’s Duties• Recruitment: Develop and implement a student recruitment plan. This may include information sessions, events, meetings, and classes at academic institutions and human service agencies.• Admissions: Rate application files for MSW and BASW program applicants at all locations using a web-based admission rating system.• Student Orientation: Provide orientation and support for students accepted into the program.• Student Retention: Hold regular cohort meetings (minimum 6/cohort), meet with individual students as needed.• Student Advising: Serve as the academic advisor for all students enrolled in the Program.• Field Placement: Seek and maintain relationships with social service agencies and organizations to secure field/practicum sites and recruit students. Meet with each student to assist in the process of selecting the field/practicum placement. Place students in field/practicum sites.• Field Supervision: Supervise students in field/practicum. Train and support agency field instructors (AFI ) and Faculty Field Instructors (FFI ).• Curriculum: Work collaboratively with the Graduate (MSW ) Program Director to plan the course of study for the program.• Faculty Support: Identify, recruit, train, and support quarterly (adjunct) faculty. Provide on-site orientation and support for faculty teaching in the program.• Canvas: Use Canvas to communicate Program, School, and University information to students. Support instructors in use of Canvas.• Teaching: Teach courses as part of faculty workload. Teaching assignment will be dependent on the needs of the department and the Everett Program.• Site Support: Maintain working relationship with the program’s host campus.• Committee Work: Serve on School of Social Work or related committees as needed.Essential Function Indicator: YesConditions of Employment:The position is available now.
