START DATE: Immediate
LOCATION: Private Home, Arlington, WA
INCOME & BENEFITS

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Position Summary:
- Desire to professionally and compassionately assist the client with his personal care and related services necessary in caring for his personal needs, comfort, safety and entertainment.
- Organizing, planning and facilitating skills that maintain his established policies/procedures, objectives, care program, safety and sanitation standards
- Strive to incorporate our family’s philosophies with quality care and regard for individual human dignity and autonomy in a personable manner without prejudice
- Creatively facilitate and communicate simple steps for client’s success

Qualifications:
Have or willing to obtain Home Care Aide certification through Consumer Direct of WA
- Background check mandatory
- NAC (CNA)
- Nurse Delegation Certification (req w/in 90 days of hire if not preexisting)
- Current WA DL & clean driving record
- Proven experience as a caregiver
- Proof of all COVID vaccines
- Fluent English and familiar with American culture & diet
- Professional and appropriate presentation
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Non-smoker
- Positive attitude, follows instructions, sense of humor, strong work ethics, physically fit, dedicated
- Comfortable with small companion dog
Key Health Care Tasks
- Comply with the client’s POLST (Physician’s Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment) & emergency protocol
- Ability to act quickly & responsibly in an emergency
- Daily documentation
- Activities of Daily Living & related services necessary for personal comfort, safety and recreation
- Medication management
- Manage neurogenic bladder & associated needs
- Meal prep / manage calorie & fluid intake
- Perform pivot transfers & lift systems
- Maintain therapies (physiotherapy, social, recreational, ROM, CDS and cognition)
- Safety Management
- Home Management Tasks
- Operation of Client Vehicle
Physical Requirements
- Mental Demands: Job involves performing tasks under the direction and supervision of the client’s Individual Support Plan, guardian or limited tasks under delegation nurse direction. Work requires adherence to precise procedures and standards involving a high degree of accuracy in performance, recording and reporting. Memory and concentration skills a must.
- Physical Demands: Moderately heavy activities, including lifting, stooping and walking. Adherence to proper transfer technique required. Occasional exposure to unpleasant physical conditions.
- Work Environment: Mutual sharing of facilities with client and relief care providers; compliance to high household standards.
- Contacts: Good communication skills required with the client, guardian and client related support team and service workers.
