Part-Time Administrative Support Assistant/Receptionist
The College of Agricultural Sciences Office for Research and Graduate Education is seeking an organized and detail-oriented individual to support the Office for Research and Graduate Education team and activities. This position requires the successful candidate to be in-person and will serve as the first point of contact upon entering the office suite and will need to have a pleasant, friendly, and welcoming demeanor.
Tasks and duties will entail assistance with compiling a regular newsletter of funding announcements, maintaining internal databases, routinely running reports and analyses, coordinating and scheduling meetings, assisting with special events, writing correspondence, processing routine tasks, drafting posts for social media, compiling graduate student recruitment packets, and updating the college's research website. Additional duties will include serving as the receptionist for office visitors, answering telephone, handling incoming/outgoing mail, and maintaining office supply inventory.
All tasks will require a keen attention to details and accuracy in data entry. Strong knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Excel and basic knowledge of other Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, and Powerpoint) and Zoom are required. Other skillsets that are preferred but not required are experience in using Filemaker (or other database software with a user interface), Mailchimp, Plone, and Twitter. Candidate must have a teachable spirit. Training in these other programs and platforms may be available as needed.
This is a part-time position for up to 24 hours per week with a period of work beginning immediately.
