The Assistant Director of Student Activities for IHSC provides a wide range of services, support, and informational resources to students at I.H.S. campus (Nutley), and serves as a key liaison to the Student Services at the main campus (South Orange). The Assistant Director plans and facilitates activities, programs, and functions to enhance the growth and development of all students by providing social, cultural, and educational opportunities for community engagement at I.H.S. campus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide a wide range of services, support, and information to students at the I.H.S. campus. The Assistant Director will be able to accurately convey a wide range of University policies, protocols and general information. This position will work as an extension of the Office of Student Engagement to support programming and holistic student engagement outside of the classroom on the I.H.S. campus.
Plan, coordinate, and manage a calendar of events and activities for undergraduate and graduate students at the I.H.S. campus. Collaborate with departments and offices within the I.H.S. community to host social, wellness, cultural, and educational programming.
Supervise, train, and manage a team of student workers (undergraduate and graduate students) who assist with event planning/management and daily office functions.
Serve as Primary Scheduler of all non-academic space at the I.H.S. campus. SuperUser of 25Live system. Coordinate needs and usage of facility between campus users, external guests/clients, and IT support for non-academic spaces within I.H.S.
Provide supportive and collaborative assistance to the Assistant Director of Disability Support Services and the Staff Psychologist at the I.H.S campus. Liason with South Orange campus colleagues to assist I.H.S. students and faculty with functions and services within the Division of Student Services. Provide immediate and ongoing administrative support to students in crisis, including but not limited to coordinating with campus services, individual professors, academic supports, through the application of University policies.
Required Qualifications:
1-3 years professional experience in Student Engagement/Student Activities within an interprofessional health campus setting or at a college or university. Bachelor required, Masters preferred
