Position Summary:
This data analyst position is an intermediate position within the Benefit/Leave Analyst team’s structure. The primary focus of this position is the support and maintenance of data for Human Resources, Benefits, Integrated Leave, and Workers Compensation in Costco’s Human Resource Systems, in addition to other systems supported by third party administrators. The Benefit Analyst Team supports the development, enhancement, and integrity of the Benefit Enrollment and Leave Administration systems to meet the needs of the company, its employees, and their family members. *Pay based on experience.
Job Duties/Essential Functions
- Creates, maintains, and supports a variety of reports and queries for Benefits, Integrated Leave, and Human Resources utilizing a variety of reporting tools.
- Assists in the development of ad hoc reports and new standard reports to ensure data integrity and to meet the needs of multiple Costco teams.
- Provides information for business analysis to support various metrics used by leadership for budgeting and other plan administration decisions.
- Understands the benefit and leave programs in order to maintain data integrity such as benefit eligibility and payroll deductions. Researches and resolves unexpected results.
- Assists in the review and testing of HRIS and third party system upgrades.
- Develops user procedures, guidelines, and documentation.
- Trains new team members on processes/functionality when assigned.

Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications Required:
- Proficiency in MS Excel 2010, MS Access, MS Word, and Google Applications - Candidates will be required to demonstrate their proficiency.
- Experience reporting from and working with an HRMS such as SAP and/or other Data Warehouse.
- Analytical skills that exploit originality and ingenuity to solve problems.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive data.
- Driven to achieve results with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability and flexibility to manage rapidly changing priorities and workflows.
- Effective reporting skills and experience using tools such as SAP ADHOC, Cognos/BI, or other data base tools.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
Recommended:
- 2 years’ of recent data analyst or relevant work experience.
- Background in Benefits, Leave or Worker’s Compensation Administration, Payroll, Human Resources or Accounting a plus.
