Position Summary
The Integrated Leave department is a fast paced environment that supports return to work, leave of absence, accommodation and workers' compensation programs for 160,000 employees. The Integrated Leave department is part of a suite of employee benefits and we collaborate closely with other stakeholders and vendors to ensure Costco employees receive the right care at the right time.
The successful candidate will find satisfaction helping to navigate the complex processes relating to our programs. The fast paced environment includes a large volume of work that requires a strong level of teamwork, but provides department employees with the ability to work autonomously once the initial training period is complete.
The position demands strong attention to detail, as well as empathy and patience. Job Duties/Essential Functions
- Sets up and utilizes computer programs to communicate, track, and record work responsibilities.
- Engages in a large volume of telephone communications/emails with locations, employees, and outside vendors.
- Intakes phone calls and documents, uses independent judgment to route accordingly.
- Assists locations and employees with questions regarding integrated leave activities.
- Tracks follow-up items to resolution.
- Responsible for monthly reporting on leave and return to work activities.
- Coordinates resources with warehouses for job assessment meetings.
- Coordinates resources for successful return to work for employees who are on leave.
- Tracks and follows up on end of leave employee issues.
- Assists with training for new leave, return to work, STD/LTD, and worker's compensation programs and accommodations.
- Assists with determining eligibility for state and federal leave and disability programs.
- Assists with implementing leave and accommodation policies and practices.
- Assist with implementing workers' compensation client service instructions and best practices.
- Attends department meetings and subject matter training.
- Collects and organizes documents relating to integrated leave department litigation.
- Works within a team environment.
- Maintains electronic data sources.
- Regular and reliable workplace attendance at your assigned location.

Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications
Required:
- 1 year Costco warehouse administration experience or 1 year of recent work experience doing complex administrative work
- Expertise in Outlook, creating Word documents, form letters, tables, worksheets and Power Point presentations.
- Excellent administrative, evaluation, and information collection skills.
- Proven verbal and written communication skills; ability to adjust communication to particular situations and all levels of senior management, management, employees and outside vendors including physicians and attorneys.
- Strong organizational/time management/multitasking abilities/attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, successful past performance in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
- Ability to articulate ideas and policies in an easy to understand manner telephonically and in person. Positive professional demeanor, dependable and self-motivated, ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Ability to maintain thoroughness and accuracy while meeting deadlines.
- Strong written communications skills, with the ability to think and write analytically.
- Willingness to continue professional education by attending internal/external training as requested.
- Willingness to adjust to varying work schedules to meet the needs of the business.
Recommended:
- High School Diploma, GED or college degree preferred.
