Patient Services Representative / Dental Assistant II
The 50% Patient Services Representative (PSR) position will perform specialized clerical and technical duties to coordinate and provide patient support services for the Eastern Washington University Department of Dental Hygiene Clinic. This is a 10 month position. The 50% Dental Assistant II (DAII) position will continue to perform patient treatment and clinic support activities. Under general supervision, instruct students in proper use and maintenance of dental clinic equipment, orient new staff to clinic procedures and maintenance, help in the ordering and maintenance of clinic supplies, and help coordinate support activities, such as patient assignments, scheduling and record maintenance in a dental clinic. This is a 10 month position.
Required Qualifications: The following required qualifications apply to both positions:
• At least two years’ experience as a dental assistant, dental receptionist, or other position involving patient contact in a dental clinic setting; preference will be given to candidates who offer one or more of the following: o More years of experience as described above o Experience with third party billing of dental procedures o Demonstrated knowledge of dental terminology
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
• Intermediate skills in utilizing spreadsheet programs such as FileMaker Pro, Excel and EagleSoft Dental Software.
• Intermediate to advanced word processing skills.
