Sr. Regional Newsroom Recruiter (Remote)
Gannett/USA TODAY NETWORK is seeking a Sr. Regional Newsroom Recruiter to join our Content Recruiting Team hiring journalists across 230+ newsrooms and supporting one of the largest news media organizations in the US.
You will collaborate and partner effectively with peers, hiring managers and HR leaders closing offers with bar-raising talent, who are most often passive, and creating programmatic approaches to the attraction, screening and selection of this talent by developing engagement strategies to reach diverse populations.
You will also contribute to and lead the execution of recruiting strategies in partnership with hiring leaders and HR Business Partners in your assigned regions.

About The Team:
As part of the Gannett Content recruiting team, you are uniquely positioned in the organization with visibility into the most fascinating business across the company. Our team is collaborative, focused on bringing the best talent to Gannett and delighting our client groups. The focus of this team is to recruit newsroom talent.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate, deliver results, and earn trust with peers, hiring managers and HR leaders at all levels.
- Lead meetings with client groups to include internal movement discussions and consult in job scoping discussions as needed.
- Leverage multiple recruiting sources and techniques to identify and engage active and passive candidates, including LinkedIn, search engines, niche job boards, social media, user groups, and blogs.
- Review candidate profiles, screen resumes, and update candidate status in our ATS, Dayforce/Ceridian.
- Prepare, extend and negotiate offer packages, helping Gannett leaders attract and secure top industry talent.
- Manage 75-100 requisitions at a given time.
- Conduct pre-screening as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master’s in communications, journalism or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years recruiting experience. Reporters and/or newsroom employees with previous recruiting experience are highly encouraged to apply.
- Ability to manage and prioritize a heavy workload with multiple requisitions at a time.
- Confidence to be able to deal effectively with candidates, executives, and clients at all levels.
- Attention to detail and consistent follow-up is essential.
- Topnotch communication skills.
- Recruiting experience in a corporate and/or agency environment.
- Proven history of handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Experience developing and implementing candidate generation strategies
- Experience partnering with senior leaders, including an ability to influence hiring strategies to meet business needs effectively.
- Knowledge of recruiting media, job site aggregators, ATS and job distribution tools.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues independently, take initiative, ownership and accountability while applying a high judgement decision making.
- Track record of obsessing over customers (candidates and hiring managers.)
- Employment is contingent on passing a pre-employment, post-offer background check.
