GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Hub Federal Way Higher Education Center is a collaboration between Highline College (HC), University of Washington- Tacoma (UWT), Federal Way Public Schools (FWPS) and the City of Federal Way. The campus, located in downtown Federal Way, offers classes and services to UWT and HC students; serving the needs of the Federal Way community and surrounding area.
The Program Manager provides leadership, coordination, direction, and vision for the programming and services offered at the Hub. The Manager directly reports to the Dean of Extended Learning, while closely collaborating with the academic departments and the student services staff at HC, UWT and FWPS.
This position requires the ability to independently coordinate classes, workshops and student support services; serving as primary program liaison and providing consultation to HC and · UWT staff, instructors, students and outside entities; assessing program needs and developing specialized courses, workshops and programs to respond to these needs; and applies program procedures and regulations.
This position is an exempt, at-will, full -time position. Hours of work may include evening, weekend and travel.
ESSENTIAL TASKS:
Reporting directly to the Dean of Extended Learning this position will:
• Plan and work with academic departments, faculty coordinators and student service departments at HC and UWT to build quarterly and annual schedule of classes, workshops and services offered at the Hub;
• Collaborate with FWPS and UWT to identify and develop clear academic pathways from high school, to HC and on to UWT;
• Develop and implement, in collaboration with the Dean of Extended Learning, a strategic plan for the Hub;
• Develop and maintain positive, professional working relationships with college departments; program partners and community entities;
• Develop and implement, in collaboration with HC, UWT, FWPS and the City of Federal way's Communications and Marketing Departments, a marketing plan;
• Responsible for identifying content for social media and email message and maintaining the Hub website;
• Prepare and manage the Hub budget;
• Design and coordinate specialized program activities;
• Ensure the quality, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction of program offerings through regular monitoring and evaluation;
• Manage, in collaboration with conference services, any room rentals at the Hub;
• Supervise the Hub administrative support staff.
Ability to:
• Develop, implement and evaluate educational programs;
• Lead, facilitate and manage committee work groups;
• Work independently, with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency;
• Lead including the ability to make sound decisions and delegate appropriately;
• Communicate effectively (written and verbal), including evidence of strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills;
• Develop, support and maintain collaborations and partnerships;
• Work as a strong team player;
• Work and interact effectively with colleagues, staff, students; administrators, and others of various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds;
• Represent HC locally and nationally;
• Lift/move conference tables, chairs and equipment;
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office
• This position may work evenings and weekends as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree; AND
• Three years full time work experience managing educational programs; AND
• Supervisory experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master's Degree in Education, Public Administration, or related field;
• Higher Education educational program management experience.
