Summary

The King County’s Finance and Business Operations Division, Procurement and Payable Section, is recruiting for multiple Accounts Payable Fiscal Specialist 3 positions! We are looking for enthusiastic, forward thinking, agile, and customer service driven candidates with experience in Accounts Payable and the Oracle EBS AP module to join our great team.
 
This recruitment is to fill one Career Service position and two Term Limited Temporary positions that are anticipated to end December 2022. If filled by a King County employee who has passed their initial probation, the TLT will be as a Special Duty Assignment.
 
Scope of Job Duties: To be considered for this opportunity, you must at a minimum, demonstrate knowledge, skill and ability to:

  • Review and audit King County employee expense reports, reimbursements requests, petty cash and imprest funds according to King County policy, state and federal regulations.
  • Coordinate review of hold report for open items to ensure outstanding invoices are paid.
  • Verify with King County departments, whether a payment should be reissued. 
  • Research and provide supplier refund checks, process and apply credit memos to AP invoices, and handle cash receipts for incoming checks.
  • Perform daily batch validation, warrant payment processing and reconciliation as needed.
  • Oversee, organize, process and track Special District vouchers and uploaded to the system
  • Review, research, and communicate voucher submissions issues
  • Track Authorized Signature Forms and update data.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all customers, both internal and external.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Accounts Payable experience in accounting and/or finance which involves working in a high-volume processing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience processing expense reimbursements.
  • Experience in verifying and reconciling invoice discrepancies, skill in receiving and disbursing funds.
  • Knowledge of accounts payable related policies, as well as county, state and federal regulations.
  • Ability to perform research and summarize specialized or technical information from varied sources.
  • Experience entering and reviewing numerical data entry with speed, accuracy and high attention to detail.
  • Intermediate level of technology proficiency using MS Office Productivity tools in your daily work 
  • Ability to manage your time and adapt to changing priorities, work on multiple priorities and projects simultaneously, meet quick deadlines, and produce timely and quality work products

We would love it if you have:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting or a related field and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with LEAN processes and principles
  • Experience with SharePoint, MS Teams and other collaborative online tools
  • Experience with Unclaimed Property processing and reporting

Other Position Information: 
This position is non-exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore overtime-eligible. Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule, every other Thursday, comprising a 40-hour workweek; normally 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. This position is represented by a union.
 
The work associated with this position will be primarily performed remotely with days in the office as needed. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements. 
 
Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection (access may be supplemented in some situations) where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required, including the wearing of masks in some situations. King County is doing its part to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and remains committed to reducing our carbon footprint.
