The Community Health Services Division of Public Health- Seattle & King County is seeking a Term Limited Temporary (TLT) Administrative Specialist I (COVID -19 Screener) to join our multidisciplinary team at Bellevue Eastgate Public Health Center, in the delivery of health services to the County's most vulnerable people!Term-Limited Temporary positions are "at-will" positions but are eligible for benefits. This TLT is currently anticipated to last for one (1) year. However, funding sources for this work remain uncertain and dependent upon decisions actively being made at both the federal and local levels. As a result, the end date of this position may be adjusted based on those decisions. The County and the Department continue to work to secure long term funding sources.This vacancy can also be filled as a Special Duty opportunity.For Special Duty Assignment interest, you must be a Career Service, Career Service Exempt or other regular (non-temporary) employees in King County who have completed their initial County probation. You must have supervisor approval prior to taking a Special Duty Assignment.
At Eastgate we provide family health, pediatrics, parent-child health, dental, family planning, teen clinic, health insurance enrollment services and ORCA Lift. We serve a diverse low-income population including people who are experiencing homelessness, recent immigrants and refugees, people with complex health conditions, and people with limited English proficiency. We are mission critical employees and are dedicated to showing up and providing the best care under any and all circumstances.
This position is critical as it supports a broad range of healthcare services in this fast-paced public health center. The successful candidate must have excellent and reliable attendance and stellar customer service skills.

Work Schedule:
This position works onsite. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday hours are 7:45am - 4:45pm. and Wednesday, 9:00am - 6:00pm. - Job Duties
- Greet patients and visitors professionally, use appropriate tone, be pleasant and courteous at all times.
- Perform temperature checks on every visitor to the site over age 2. Report any abnormalities to clinic staff before allowing guest to enter the clinic.
- Offer a mask, if applicable, to all patients and visitors over the age of 2 yrs old.
- Ask the COVID-19 screening questions and report any positive responses to clinic staff before allowing the guests to enter the clinic. based upon Eastgate Public Health infection control protocols.
- Don and Doff PPE as required within the protocol for performing medical screening
- Monitor the occupancy of the waiting room and control the flow of patient traffic.
- Wipe down high touch areas at the designated intervals.
- Interact effectively and positively with patients, coworkers, and external clients at all times.
- Coordinate communication and information with other departments. Maintain a high level of professionalism when interacting with internal and external customers.
- Greet patients and visitors professionally and direct patient appropriately to receive services, including WIC, Family Health, Family Planning, Dental and Insurance enrollment.
- Interact effectively and positively with patients, coworkers, and external clients at all times.
- Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
- Possess the ability to consistently provide superior customer service and exhibit an exceptional work ethic.
- Work independently and problem solve, know when to ask for help.
- Ability to wear a mask and face shield for the majority of the shift.
- Ability to sit/stand throughout the shift.
- High school graduate or G.E.D
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job.
- Reliable transportation to get to and from work.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bilingual, Spanish speaking is a plus, but not required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred but not required.
