Seattle King County Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator
This position will support Public Health-Seattle and King County's Emergency Preparedness Team and emergency response capabilities by coordinating a cadre of more than 1,000 volunteers, supporting community public health and emergency preparedness, response, and resiliency efforts, coordinating activities of emergency response teams, representing Public Health Preparedness in regional coalitions, and serving in Public Health's emergency operations center during exercises and emergency responses. The goal of these activities are to boost community resilience, identify and eliminate system gaps, and eliminate disparate impacts of disasters on King County residents. Interviews are expected to be held between June and July on a rolling basis until position is filled, with an anticipated start date of October 3rd. Further help on this page can be found: . https://my.americorps.gov/mp/listing/viewListing.do?id=82259 Member Duties : This position will support Public Health-Seattle and King County's Emergency Preparedness Team by assisting with the management of the Public Health Reserve Corps, which will includes volunteer recruitment, processing volunteer applications, managing communications, supporting training plans, performing administrative tasks, event planning, and coordinating volunteers in emergency responses as they occur. This position will support the ongoing COVID-19 response including COVID vaccine efforts. This position will also help plan and participate in emergency drills and exercises, participate in real-world responses in Public Health's Emergency Operations Center, plan and facilitate meetings and support accomplishment of workplans for Public Health's emergency response teams, represent Public Health at local and state emergency preparedness workgroups, and help plan and participate in community public health and emergency resiliency events.
