With a growing portfolio of residential and commercial property parcels, King County's Department of Assessments is looking for interested applicants to apply for the Applications Developer - Senior position in our Information and Technology Division to develop advanced and complex Dynamics 365 applications, solutions and enhancements system interfaces. The qualified applicant would be responsible for the full software program development life cycle in support of the King County Department of Assessments and Treasury-related property tax administration functions and processes. Senior Applications Developers base their work on a broad understanding of client systems and business processes. Incumbents typically provide support to multiple applications and systems and work on major, critical or complex development projects. Senior Applications Developers may serve as our department's management recognized subject matter experts or as technical experts on the specialized assessment-related systems to which they are assigned. This position is integral to our commitment to be one of the Best Assessment Departments in North America.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems or other relevant and related field, and two (2) to five (5) years of responsible work experience in Dynamics 365 customization, web and mobile app development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge/skills/abilities necessary to perform the job, including:

- An approachable and skilled Applications Developer and do you have broad and extensive knowledge of application development and have a strong background in functional appraisal, Dynamics 365 or other relevant coding and IT application development skills?
- A customer service star, adept at translating customer technical needs into technically sound applications that meet customer requirements?
- An agile learner, able to learn and apply IT application solutions to complex projects/applications and provide IT technical support to multiple applications
- A collaborator that works towards consensus and have the ability to resolve IT system user technical problems and meet client system and business needs?

Job Duties
The successful candidate will at a minimum demonstrate skill and ability to:
- Lead and support other Application Developers, and coordinate the technical application development work on specific projects, and ensure quality of the develop process.
- Plan, develop and provide technical application development oversight for internal and external customers to ensure the functional elements of customer desired solutions can be designed and developed in real time, while supporting ongoing application solutions. Ability to use data, metrics and analytics to drive development success.
- Provide critical technical analysis and review of complex computer applications (including Dynamics 365) to ensure effective solutions within and to support our Property Tax Administration System and other side-systems.
- Provide Windows development expertise to support our .net applications and to develop and read code to draft technical specifications.
- Prepare and review technical application documents to support users of solutions, and train users to be competent and effective in the use of applications.
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
APPLICANTS WILL DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong background in IT Application development and support.
- Proficient in .NET application development and SQL Server programming.
- Solid technical, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a collaborative, team-centered environment supporting IT infrastructure across County departments.
- Strong Customer focus and technically advanced client support.
- Ability to develop complex Dynamics 365 solutions.
- Exceptional listening skills and the ability to keep up with evolving business needs through flexibility and rapid integration of new concepts.
- Develop IT subject matter expertise in Assessments and Treasury functions.
