Summary
King County's Brightwater Center is a community space provided to educate and engage local community. The Center is sustainably built and features education classrooms, outdoor natural area with 3-miles of trails, and meeting spaces for community groups, conference, weddings and other special events. The Brightwater Center Rental Program Coordinator supports all activities at the Center and allows for successful community programs, events, and experiences.
The Environmental and Community Services Section of WTD strives to engage communities and address the needs of priority communities that they identify for themselves in support of the Division's mission to protect public health and water quality. Our group focuses on Equity and Social Justice and makes this a priority in all our work.
The Rental Program Coordinator acts as the lead for rental events that take place at the Brightwater Center located in Woodinville WA. The coordinator position also supports general office and building operations and provides customer service to visitors and partners who come to Brightwater Center.
Brightwater Center has over 300 rental events each year, which requires a coordinator with excellent organization skills and management of details to be successful with such a large volume of events. This position must manage renter questions and concerns with patience and positive customer service.
Job Duties
The work associated with this position will primarily be performed onsite; this is not a telecommute position. Employees must reside in WA state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required by the department in alignment with the Public Health Directive from the Seattle & King County Public Health Officer. Work Location: Primarily at the Brightwater Treatment Plant, 22505 State Route 9 S.E., Woodinville, WA 98072. There will be an expectation to travel to various worksites throughout King and South Snohomish County as needed for your work. This position may have some occasional telecommute opportunities.
Work Schedule: T his position is exempt from the overtime provision of the Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) and is not overtime eligible. This full-time position works a 40-hour work week. Monday through Friday.

Job Duties
- Manage the Brightwater Center rental program which includes maintaining excellent communications and customer service for diverse audiences (in-person, phone, email, website, etc.)
- Coordinate registration, logistics and site visits for all rental events including updating and managing the database system and calendars.
- Act as on-site lead for rental events that occur during business hours (generally 7a.m.-5p.m., Monday-Friday), which includes some post event custodial tasks.
- Review and update current rental event policies and procedures as needed; collect rental program evaluation data and prepare reports for rental program activity information and evaluation.
- Coordinate general operations and maintenance of Brightwater Center office and buildings for purchasing of necessary supplies and equipment, submitting maintenance and IT requests, and maintaining upkeep of buildings including exhibit hall displays and kiosks.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience which provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform all the duties described in this job announcement
- 3-years of experience in coordinating community events and/or program registration with diverse communities.
- Strong program administrative skills
- Strong verbal and writing communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team oriented, diverse environment with various levels of staff and leadership
- Experience with financial and project accounting
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook and google calendars
- Must be able to lift chairs and move tables as needed
- A valid Washington State Driver's License.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate through the policies, procedures, and the culture of a larger organization in order to get the work done
- Experience in event registration systems
