The Bus Operations team has an exciting Career Service opportunity for a Bus Operations Project/Program Manager III.The PPM III role is an opportunity to contribute to Bus Operations and support the delivery of transit as a human right.
This recruitment will be used to fill one career service position.- Job Duties

As a Project/Program Manager III, you will:- Develop and manage complex projects and recommendations independently.
- Provide project management support to Bus Operations Communications Team.
- Manage projects at bases to modernize procedures and eliminate the use of paper.
- Design & implement pilot programs to demonstrate effectiveness for future funding
- Coordinate and implement departmental initiatives within the Bus Operations division.
- Streamline Bus Operations processes to ensure departmental alignment and consistency throughout the division.
- Manage policy & procedure updates
- Represent the division in department and division meetings.
- Make/assist with staff hiring recommendations on specific projects.
- Assemble, lead, and coordinate the work of project teams. Resolve team or unit disputes.
- Coordinate, review, and comment on your projects or program processes.
- Provide meeting content to internal stakeholders and assign work to staff who report directly to you.
- Work in conjunction with departmental staff who do not report directly to you.
- Provide performance evaluation information for other staff; serve as a mentor to other staff.
- Participate in workforce planning modeling
- Coordinate Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EIB) activities within Bus Operations workgroups
- Plan, deploy, and administer divisional Teams sites.
- Perform other duties that support the team and/or the division in transforming business processes.
- Develop and manage complex projects and recommendations independently.

Work Schedule:
The standard work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., though work outside of the normal work schedule may be required. This position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore not eligible for overtime.
Teleworking Requirement:
The work associated with these positions will be performed predominantly in a hybrid work environment working in the office and at home. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection (access may be supplemented in some situations) where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required, including the wearing of masks in some situations. King County is doing its part to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and remains committed to reducing our carbon footprint.
