Work Schedule The normal workweek for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Alternative work schedules may be considered. This position is not eligible for overtime pay.

The position will provide authoritative technical and analytical expertise in the areas of fund accounting, billing management, and financial reporting.
- Responsible for KCIT billing - Lead and perform revenue generating financial activities. Monitor and reconcile revenue collected. Provide analysis, solutions, and guidance to internal and external customers regarding KCIT charges.
- Perform variance analysis (budget vs actual) to evaluate revenue status and identify revenue trend for various KCIT services. Develop recommendations for financial, operational and policy decisions.
- Monitor financial data in Oracle EBS to ensure accuracy of transactions recorded. Identify any discrepancies and prepare supporting documentation for correcting entries in Oracle EBS.
- Perform General Ledger reconciliations, including general leger account balances to other modules.
- Responsible for maintaining the accounting and organization structure in Oracle EBS and other side systems, including setting up customer accounts, NLRs, and project/award.
- Monitor and track account and operating project/program status, including capital projects. Reconcile and capitalize project expenditures upon completion.
- Act as the technical advisor to internal staff on fund accounting matters. Review internal control policies and other accounting procedures and make recommendations to management for further improvement.
- Act as an agency key person for County's CAFR (Comprehensive Annual Financial Report) production. Work with internal and external staff to gather and analyze necessary financial information.
- Research accounting policies and procedures for compliance with GAAP and GAAS, and other regulations and county code; make recommendations to management on accounting treatments and determinations.
- Act as a backup person for asset management functions of KCIT.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
- Experience in performing a high volume revenue generating transactions
- Ten years of progressive governmental accounting experience
- General Ledger Accounts Reconciliation experience, in government setting
- Advanced knowledge of King County financial information systems and reporting tools
- Be able to communicate respectfully and effectively, both orally and in writing, with individuals from diverse backgrounds and at all levels of the organization
- Be able to prioritize workload, work under pressure with tight timelines and changing priorities, and produce reliable and high quality work products while meeting deadlines
- Knowledge of and skill in governmental accounting, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Advanced knowledge of financial information systems
- Intermediate/advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration and/or equivalent education and experience
- Certified Public Accountant
