As King County continues to take an aggressive approach to fighting the effects of COVID-19, we are asking for your help. There is a significant need for additional staffing assistance at the isolation/quarantine sites.
Work Schedule: This is a 24 hour, 7 day/week operation. Schedule to be determined at time of hire. Minimum of 2 shifts per week required.
Work Locations: Kent, North Seattle, Issaquah
Job Duties:
Staff will be expected to provide general nursing support including- monitoring patients' needs
- providing requested items to patient rooms (knock and drop)
- support record keeping of patient status
- provide support to medical staff if there is an emergency
- support check-in and discharge procedures
- pick up prescribed medications and/or supplies at nearby pharmacy
- gather laundry in carts for pickup by laundry service. Staff will be provided
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills:- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative relationships while working as a part of a multidisciplinary team to include medical staff and other site employees
- Skill in working under stressful conditions, remaining calm and exercising sound judgment.
- Ability and experience making decisions in ambiguous situations.
- Skill in dealing effectively with the public in emotional situations, detecting potential problems and preventing escalation
- Skill in effective communications both oral and written.
- Skill in working with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Certification Requirement:
Must have certification from one of the following- Medical Assistant Certification with Washington Department of Health.
- Designation as a Certified Medical Assistant from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
- Designation as a Registered Medical Assistant from American Medical Technologists (AMT).
- Designation as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
- Designation as a National Certified Medical Assistant from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
Desired Certification:- Documentation of current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification with AED training if available (Please note that CPR/AED Heartsaver courses do not meet this requirement.)

- Public Health relies on office automation (Microsoft Office 365) and other web-enabled tools. Candidates must be proficient and comfortable with computer use to perform essential functions of the position.

- Staff may be required to play an active role in the event of a public health emergency, which may include changes in responsibilities, work location and working hours.
- The selected candidate will be required to pass a thorough background investigation.

- Employees are required to adhere to OSHA/WISHA guidelines including but not limited to completing their mandatory trainings on time.
