Summary
King County Parks' Community Partnerships and Grants Program provides the unique opportunity for community groups to develop new and/or enhanced public recreation facilities on King County property. We are seeking a Community Partnership Grants Project Manager to join our Investments Team to support this important program that provides funding for community-driven projects.
This role collaborates closely with community partners, such as sports associations, recreation clubs, and non-profit organizations, to support creative partnerships and projects that leverage community interests and resources. This position will manage capital improvement projects, administer and monitor compliance of contracts, and cultivate and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders.

Job Duties
- Project Management: Manage multiple projects in various phases of planning and implementation within established timeframes and budget.
- Community Relations: Act as liaison for all project participants throughout project lifecycle. Assist partners in navigating regulatory, legal, and fiscal requirements.
- Contract Administration: Develop and manage grant agreements, monitor project progress and deliverables, review and approve payment requests, and resolve contractual issues and disputes.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with all stakeholders, both external and internal, such as Parks Capital Improvement Team, Parks Operations, Historic Preservation Program, and King County Permitting, on project issues. Ensure projects are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Strategy Development: Compile, analyze, and present program data to a variety of audiences from a variety of sources to generate project plans and recommendations. Facilitate group discussions and/or public meetings.
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in project management, construction management, and /or grant administration.
- Advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience in managing the project lifecycle from planning, design, and implementation.
- Experience facilitating meetings and activities with diverse community groups.
- Highly effective oral and written communication including preparing and delivering presentations, writing effective reports and correspondence for a variety of audiences, and communicating technical information to non-technical staff.
- Ability to apply equity and social justice principles that exemplify shared values, behaviors, and practices to all aspects of the work and work environment.
- Customer Focus: Builds strong customer relationships and delivers customer-centric solutions.
- Balances Stakeholders: Anticipates and balances the needs of multiple stakeholders.
- Organizational Savvy: Maneuvers comfortably through complex policy, process, and people-related organizational dynamics.
- Communicates Effectively: Develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
- Plans and Aligns: Plans and prioritizes work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.
- Optimizes Work Processes: Knows the most effective and efficient processes to get things done.
- Tech Savvy: Anticipates and adopts innovations in business building digital and technology applications.
- PMP Certification
- Degree in planning, urban design, environmental studies, public administration.
- Experience successfully managing multiple capital projects related to new and/or enhanced public recreational facilities.
- Strong ability to proactively identify project risks; develop and implement solutions approved by key decision makers
- Knowledge of data management systems and/or project management applications and tools

Working Conditions:
- Work Location: Primarily teleworking and King Street Center (201 S. Jackson St., Seattle WA 98104). This position is expected to occasionally report to worksites or properties located throughout King County depending on business needs.
- Work Hours: This full-time position works a 40-hour work week.
- FLSA Status: This position is exempt from the overtime provision of the Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) and is not overtime eligible.
- Union Representation: This position is not represented by a union.
