Summary
Public Health-Seattle & King County's Community Vaccination Team has an exciting opportunity for two (2)Project/Program Manager Is to support the department's COVID-19 vaccination efforts by serving as Community Vaccination Event Coordinators. Community Vaccination Event Coordinators will work directly with community and healthcare partners to manage key planning, logistical, and operational functions of Community Vaccination Events. This position will report to the Community Vaccination Events Program Manager.
This Term Limited Temporary or Special Duty Assignment is anticipated to last through March 31, 2024. However, the end date of this position may be adjusted based on funding and program need.

Work location: The work for this position will be performed through a combination of telecommuting and onsite work. Onsite work will be performed predominantly at various Community Based Organizations, and other sites throughout King County.
Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Employees must reside in WA state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements. There will be situations where the employee is required to report to a County worksite. Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required by the department in alignment with the Public Health Directive from the Seattle & King County Public Health Officer.
To support employees during this time King County has a robust collection of tools and resources to support working remotely. The individual selected for this opportunity will be joining an innovative and progressive team. King County is doing its part to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and remains committed to reducing our carbon footprint.
Work schedule: This position works a flexible schedule Monday through Friday, with some evening and weekend work required as-needed. This position is subject to the Fair Labor Standards Act and is overtime eligible.

Job Duties
- Coordinate with community partners and vaccine providers (i.e., healthcare partners) to ensure that events are successful, patient-centered, and meet the needs/requirements of all of groups involved.
- Work directly with community partners to understand their unique needs and preferences for events. Clearly communicate expectations, vaccine provider capacity, operational practices of COVID-19 vaccine clinics, and other relevant information.
- Maintain situational awareness of current eligibility guidelines, COVID-19 vaccine provider requirements, and internal and external resources available for Community Vaccination Events.
- Work with all partners to ensure that events are conducted safely and meet state Department of Health/local Public Health requirements for COVID-19 vaccination.
- Work with all partners to ensure that events have adequate staff and supplies and meet community needs in a way that fosters trust between the community partner, the vaccine provider, and Public Health.
- Monitor planning progress, keep track of event details, and document key data points.
- Serve as the main point of contact for assigned Community Vaccination Events, both within Public Health and for partners.
- Provide on-site logistical and operational support on the day of events by responding to emergent logistical needs and managing volunteers as needed.
- Escalate issues to others in the Community Vaccination Team when additional support is needed.
- Work with community partners and Public Health finance to ensure that partner efforts are being documented for reimbursement purposes; ensure that partners are reimbursed within a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Proficient computer and typing skills including advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite; specifically: Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel to and from Community Vaccination Event sites across King County on a regular basis.
- Knowledge of public health terminology or demonstrated ability and experience learning other professional terminology.
- Familiarity with current King County COVID-19 response strategies.
- Knowledge and experience with community-centered event planning.
- Bi- or multi-lingual proficiency or fluency.
- Experience in interpreting and adapting guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), WA Department of Health (DOH), or Public Health-Seattle & King County.
