Contact Tracing Lead - Project/Program Manager I
- Summary
Public Health – Seattle & King County is seeking Contact Tracing Leads- Program Manager (PPM I). This position is the lead for the daily team of contact tracers conducting interviews with confirmed COVID-19 cases and follow up with their contacts. The Contact Tracing Lead is the subject matter expert (SME) for contact tracing processes and accurate data recording. The Contact Tracing Lead must be available to work a variable schedule, including weekends, evenings and some holidays. This recruitment will be used to fill up to 6 positions.
This position will last through June 30, 2021.- Job Duties
- Lead a daily team of contact tracers conducting interviews for COVID-19 response.
- Lead daily AM and PM check-in/debrief calls with contact tracing team. Take and distribute notes.
- Communicate accurate and thorough information about process changes to contact tracing team.
- Assist with observing staff and trainees completing case calls; provide appropriate feedback.
- Monitor contact tracing staff daily work including follow-up communications with cases through voicemail and text.
- Notify PPM IIIs of staffing concerns or issues.
- Document challenges and brings to leadership team meetings; resolve accordingly.
- Facilitate problem solving of complicated scenarios and offers guidance to contact tracers, when necessary.
- Assist with care coordination, referrals and appropriate follow up for cases, as needed.
- Discern when cases require elevation to another department or leadership.
- Provide support to contact tracers in the use of technology platforms Skype, RedCap, Mosio, and Dynamics.
- Strictly adhere to client confidentiality and handling of PHI (like notes taken, and other communication)
- Conduct case and contact investigations as needed.
- Assist with identifying ongoing training needs for contact tracers.
- Ability to work variable schedule, including weekends.
- Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
- Knowledge and experience working with Public Health’s COVID-19 contact tracing survey instruments, databases and interviews.
- Strong skills and experience in communicable disease investigation (case and outbreak) and conducting interviews.
- Knowledge of Public Health’s COVID-19 response.
- Ability to establish rapport with diverse groups of people in a very brief amount of time.
- Strong preference for candidates who are bilingual in Spanish with the ability to read, write and speak Spanish
- Ability to manage a team in a context of varying levels of ambiguity and work to bring clarity if and when needed.
- Experience working with people with varied lived experiences in a non-judgmental manner.
- Maintain confidentiality of protected health information at all times.
- Carry out assignments and responsibilities reliably in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner.
- Strong attention to details.
- Strong oral communication skills.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- Washington State Driver's License or the ability to provide transportation to work locations with limited or no public transportation services is required.

TEMPORARY TELECOMMUTING REQUIREMENT
The work associated with this position will be performed remotely, at least through July 5, 2021 in compliance with King County’s telecommuting mandate. Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Employees must reside in WA state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements. There will be situations where the employee is required to report to a County worksite. Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required by the department in alignment with the Public Health Directive from the Seattle & King County Public Health Officer.
