To contain COVID-19 and fully re-open the region, Public Health -- Seattle & King County estimates that it will be necessary to vaccinate at least 70 percent of all adults, or approximately 1.26 million people. To help achieve this goal, there is an urgent need to create and expand COVID-19 vaccination capacity across South King County and other areas of need in King County.
We are looking to fill numerous Licensed Practical Nurse positions in the Community Health Services Division to work for up to nine months to support and maintain the operations of our Covid-19 Vaccination Program. High-volume Covid-19 vaccination sites are opening across the country, and right here in King County, as an effective method for accelerating community vaccination. Public Health – Seattle & King County (PHSKC) is collaborating with a variety of King County Divisions, local area organizations and businesses to ensure enough high-volume vaccination sites are in operation, particularly in areas of need like South King County. These sites are expected to be open six (6) days per week and to operate at least eight (8) hours per day, with the possibility to extend these hours/days of operation depending on demand and vaccine availability.Job Duties May Include:
- Vaccine preparation
- Administer COVID-19 vaccine
- Provide education regarding vaccine
- Other duties as assigned to support operational need
Requirements:
- Requires current Washington State Licensed Practical Nurse license in good standing.
- Requires the completion of training from a Practical/Vocational Nursing Program from an accredited school of nursing
- Washington state driver's license or ability to travel to sites within Seattle-King County
- BLS-CPR for healthcare providers
Competitive Candidates:
- Bilingual and/or Bicultural
- Knowledge of vaccine administration
- Experience in patient education
- Familiar with SOLV System
- Experience in Occupational Health and/or Employee Health
Who May Apply: This position is open to all qualified applicants that includes new graduate and re-entry nurses. This posting will be used to fill all needs.
Work Schedule: These positions are fully benefited, term-limited temporary 1.0 FTE and overtime eligible. Mass vaccination sites are scheduled to operate 6 days per week with 8 hour shifts but will change as more vaccine becomes available. Nurses may work outside of this assigned shift and/or location in order to meet operational needs.
