Public Health Float Pool Section is looking for Dentists to fill short term temporary (STT) positions. We are looking for candidates that are available at least one day a week, with a preference for 2-3, and expect to be available for at least a year. We will work with selected candidates to match their availability with locations that need support.
The locations where dental care is provided are listed below. Dental clinics are located: in Downtown, Eastgate, North, Columbia and Renton. Additionally, emergency dental care is provided on the Seattle and South County Homeless Dental Vans (currently serving Auburn, Burien, Federal Way, Kent, Renton and Seattle). The STT Float Pool Dentists will be expected to provide at least one four-hour shifts on the Mobile Dental Van each month.
Clinics provide services to an ethnically diverse population of low-income children and adults, including pregnant women and homeless adults and teens. Candidates with lived experience related to this work are strongly encouraged to apply.
Work Schedule: Hours and work locations will vary depending on clinic need.
Dental clinics generally operate 8:00-5:00 M-F. Mobile Van shifts are generally four hours 3:30-7:30 with occasional shifts 10:00-2:00 or 11:00-3:00.

- Perform clinical duties as allowed by the Washington State Dental Practice Act, RCW 18.32.
- Provide primary clinical dental services to targeted populations, such as children 1-19 years of age, adults 60 years of age and over and pregnant women enrolled in the Health Center's maternity program.
- Collaborate with site management and other staff dentist to provide leadership in quality dental practice and optimum team functioning.
- Provide oversight of clinical dental practice.
- Provide professional and technical expertise and direction to dental assistants/dental hygienists.
- Attend off-site staff and dental practice meetings with the ability to return to work site within a reasonable timeframe.
- Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
- Current Washington State License to practice dentistry.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of Dental Public Health Practice.
- Ability to provide leadership and work as a team member in a fast pacedfast-pacedenvironment.
- Excellent communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications:- Demonstrated experience in quadrant dentistry.
- Demonstrated experience with removable prosthetics
- Demonstrated experienced working in a community or public health setting.
- Applicants bilingual in English and Spanish are desired.

- Public Health relies on office automation (Microsoft Office) and web-based enabled tools, therefore candidates must be proficient and comfortable with computer use to perform functions associated with on-going work.
- Regular and reliable attendance, effective communication skills, and development of effective working relationships are requirements of all Public Health positions.
- Staff may be required to play a role as a first responder in the event of a Public Health emergency.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:- The selected candidate must be credentialed with a provisional clinical staff appointment prior to the actual practice date and remain credentialed with re-appointments (recredentialing) every two years.
- The selected candidate is responsible for licensure renewal in a timely manner as required by the Dental Quality Assurance Commission and as required by law.
- The selected candidate must pass a thorough background investigation.
- Employees are required to protect the privacy and security of protected health information as defined in State and Federal Law.
- Employees are required to adhere to OSHA/WISHA guidelines including but not limited to completing their mandatory trainings on time.
- Must possess a valid Washington State DriversDriver’s License or the ability to travel to and between work sites or other remote locations within a reasonable timeframe.
