The King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Desktop Support Specialist. The person in this role will provide desktop support for our customers (end-users) within the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office (PAO). Support would include in-person, remote, phone and email responses depending on the needs of the user. The Desktop Support Specialist would accomplish daily operational tasks as well as troubleshoot to resolve hardware, software, applications, and network issues.

This recruitment is for being used to fill a full time Desktop Support Specialist- Journey position.
The PAO will possibly use this pool to hire an additional Term-Limited Temporary (TLT)/Special Duty funded for the next two years. The selected person will be joining the PAOIT team to provide support for mass hiring because of COVID-19.
Who May Apply: This position is open to anyone who meets the minimum qualifications.
Work Location: In-person/telecommuting hybrid: In-person services will primarily be at King County Courthouse; may need to cover Kent at times. This position is eligible for telecommuting except for tasks that require an on-site or in-person presence to fulfill the business needs of the position, unit, division and mission. A county issued laptop will be provided.
Work Schedule: 40-hour work week, typically 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. This position is eligible for King County’s generous benefits package and is covered by the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.Union Membership: Positions in this classification are represented by Teamsters Local No. 117.*

Primary duties for this position are performance of Tier 1 and Tier 2 support to include:
- Strong customer service skills
- The ability to take direction and work in a timely manner.
- The use of an IT ticketing system to track, monitor and resolve daily computer issues as well as longer-term projects.
- Help to setup technology needed in presentations- Skype meetings and courtroom presentations.
- Troubleshoot end-user problems to include software, hardware and network issues. This would include the repair of computers and peripherals- printers, scanners, and monitors.
- Participate in desktop- workstation re-locations.
- Configure new computer systems: install computer imaging software, adapt to specific departmental needs.
- Fulfill network requests such as password resets, also work with senior desktop support to ensure correct permissions for accounts.
- Provide training support for common and specialized applications.
- Monitor and support desktop and network security by providing quick response to virus and malware attacks.
- Must be able to work in a current Windows OS environment with Win 10 desktops
- Knowledgeable with current desktop applications; Microsoft Suite, O365.
- Must understand remote access and VPN.
- Knowledgeable about and able to troubleshoot current video codecs.
- Must be able to have an understanding of PAO applications, whether in-house solutions or OOTB solutions
- Must understand security best practices and complete WSP CJIS training

- Comfortable working in and assisting others through company help desk software, such as Cherwell, in addition to other remote access desktop programs
- Able to accept constructive criticism and customer feedback regarding their experience with software or IT services
- Ability to prioritize and manage projects efficiently
- Professional written and interpersonal skills, particularly communicating with customers and clients
- Experience installing and configuring computer systems and applications
- Must be able to work in Microsoft environment: Server 2012/2019 with Win 10 desktops
