Summary
King County's Business Resource Center (BRC) Training Team has an opening for a creative training professional to develop and deliver engaging technical training content in a variety of mediums. This is a two (2) year Term Limited Temporary (TLT), benefits eligible, position.
We are looking for a tech savvy trainer who enjoys flexing their creative muscles to make technical educational content engaging and helpful for our end users. Our ideal candidate will enjoy collaborating with team members, have great customer service, a passion for helping employees learn how to be more efficient by optimizing their use of our business systems, and always be seeking to educate and help customers adapt to ongoing application changes. Our ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter who isn't afraid to ask for help or brainstorm process improvements.
WHO WE ARE:
The BRC supports, maintains, and optimizes King County's enterprise HR and payroll system (PeopleSoft), as well as the county's finance, procurement, and business intelligence (BI) applications. These enterprise business applications are used countywide to perform essential business processes.
WHAT WE DO:
The BRC Training Team works closely with teams across the division to support training activities for system upgrades and new projects that implement changes to business processes, system functionality and/or implement new Oracle products. We work with project teams and subject matter experts to assess changes impacting existing training materials and define and organize content to be included in new or updated educational offerings. We provide change management and communication support to the user communities, for major system changes.

The work schedule for the full-time position is normally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Alternative work schedules may be considered.
The work associated with this position will be performed through teleworking with reporting to the BRC shared workspace office location occasionally as needed. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours.

- Design, develop, and deliver training content, including written documentation, e-learning courses, videos, and workshops to prepare users to efficiently perform business processes using the Oracle applications supported by the Business Resource Center (e.g., EBS, PeopleSoft, and BI Insights).
- Utilize a variety of technical tools to produce and deliver training content that supports our users in implementing what they've learned into their daily operations. (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Vimeo, Office 365, learning management systems, accessibility tools, etc.)
- Use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) to ensure training content meets ADA digital accessibility requirements.
- Support training activities for system upgrades and new projects that implement changes to business processes, system functionality and/or implement new Oracle related systems. Work with project teams and subject matter experts to assess changes impacting existing curriculum and to define and organize content to be included in new/updated education materials.
- Develop and deliver presentations, communications, and specialized training through forums, trainings, workshops, and other mediums of information sharing.
- Facilitate instructor led remote trainings for county employees.
- Gather feedback and monitor training statistics and evaluations in support of guiding on-going training and process improvements.
- Learn and adopt new tools and approaches over time as part of the continuous improvement of training offerings.
- Develop collaborative relationships with BRC analysts, business partners, and system stakeholders to support evolving technology and business solutions that deliver value to customers.
- Experience designing and delivering training curriculum/content including giving live presentations, writing instructional guides, video editing, and e-learning course creation.
- Experience in e-learning development and/or instructional design, basic video editing, and a grasp of visual design basics.
- Know how to organize training content to effectively communicate to diverse audiences of all levels and abilities.
- Advanced knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office products including Word and PowerPoint.
- Proficient with various tools like Office 365, Teams, Adobe Captivate and/or Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, etc.
