King County's Business Resource Center (BRC) is conducting a search for a senior level Functional Analyst to join our fast-paced and highly successful PeopleSoft team.
The PeopleSoft HCM team supports two value streams within the Business Resource Center:
HIRE TO RETIRE – Key responsibility for maintaining and enhancing the Human Resources, Position Management, and Training & Benefits modules.
COMPENSATION – Key responsibility for maintaining and enhancing the Payroll and Time & Labor modules.
This Functional Analyst position will work closely with other BRC functional and technical team members in the process of aligning the PeopleSoft system to our stakeholder’s business needs. The selected candidate will create functional specifications, manage change requests, develop test requirements, test plans and test scripts, participate in applying vendor supplied system updates and provide user training and support to our business partners and PeopleSoft end-users.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with business owners to solve business challenges, is a self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented team player with a positive work attitude who is looking for a challenging, exciting, and fast-paced work environment.
This Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) or Special Duty Assignment is scheduled to end 12/31/2022.
SCOPE OF JOB DUTIES – Successful candidate for the position will be able to demonstrate skill and ability, at a minimum, to:
- Provide system and user support related to PeopleSoft modules and King County business processes
- Create specifications to support PeopleSoft HCM changes to meet business needs
- Lead and facilitate groups to define business requirements and identify system and business impacts. Design solutions for application modifications, interfaces and reports
- Conduct functional and user acceptance testing according to standard best practice methodologies
- Make configuration and data changes to the PeopleSoft tables.
- Identify root cause and design approach to address and correct the issues.
- Have a strong background in functional or business analytical support of an ERP system such as PeopleSoft, Workday or SAP
- Have knowledge of HR/Payroll business systems and practices, work-flow analysis, business systems integration and design, and process re-engineering
- Have the ability to design solutions for application modifications, interfaces and reports
- Have customer-focus in building and maintaining positive relationships with agencies and staff
- Can be flexible and adapt as required, while working in a multifaceted environment
- Are Self-driven, proactive problem solver with attention to detail and demonstrated initiative
- Learn Quickly with analytical and troubleshooting skills

Temporary Telecommuting Requirement
The work associated with this position will be performed remotely, at least through July 5, 2021 in compliance with King County’s telecommuting mandate. It is possible that the work will be primarily performed remotely on an ongoing basis after July 5, 2021. Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Employees must reside in WA state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements. There will be situations where the employee is required to report to a County worksite. Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required by the department in alignment with the Public Health Directive from the Seattle & King County Public Health Officer.
