Summary
This is an opportunity within Public Health to support the modernization of the Prevention Division's technical environment and systems. The Prevention Division seeks a self-motivated professional to assist an ongoing project to transition data systems and processes from older, more costly platforms to newer platforms that better meets the organizational needs, especially the Microsoft Office 365 Cloud. This one (1) year temporary assignment (SD or TLT) will support defining and documenting customer business functions and process, workflow, and interface analyses, designing and developing customized workspaces, including setting up Teams, SharePoint, and other Office 365 resources.
This Special Duty/TLT position is anticipated to last for one (1) year with possibility of extension.

The individual selected for this position will have a work schedule typically between the hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. This position FLSA Exempt and is not eligible for overtime.
This Special Duty/TLT position is anticipated to last for one (1) year with possibility of extension.
Work Location:
The home base for this position is Chinook Building located in Downtown Seattle, Chinook Building, 401 5th Ave., Suite 1300, Seattle. This position may telecommute coming into the office as needed.
Telecommuting:
Some of the work associated with this position will be performed predominantly through teleworking with reporting to office location and to meetings as needed. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection (access may be supplemented in some situations) where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required, including the wearing of masks in some situations . King County is doing its part to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and remains committed to reducing our carbon footprint.

Job Duties
- Define system requirements. Define and document customer business functions and processes; conduct workflow analyses, data conversion, develop and make recommendations for systems changes.
- Prepare and give user training. Develop and update training materials and guidelines on system changes, enhancements, or updates; provide training and updates to customers on system changes and process improvements.
- Collaborate with customers to optimize workflow and develop best practices
- Support the transition from shared network drives to SharePoint for document management and retention
- Assist with setting SharePoint best practices for organization, tagging and metadata
- Assist with or perform system administration including security and user management
- Collaborate with the systems administrator on procedures for IT onboarding and access change needs.
- Support increasing knowledge of Teams/SharePoint/Office 365 resources and tools across the Prevention workforce.
- Support hands-on learning and continuous improvement to system and processes
- Collaborate with Prevention Division Office 365 transition manager to plan, organize, and support technology improvement project.
- Attend routine project planning and check-in meetings
- Develop resource pages, reporting tools and queries
- Test, trouble shoot and validate new sites, builds, workflow changes and program reporting
- Other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS:
- Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, MS Teams
- Knowledge of organization business practices, workflow analysis, business systems, design, and process re-engineering
- Ability to facilitate focus group sessions with people of diverse professional and personal backgrounds.
- Knowledge of databases, query development, testing, data conversion, and transaction processing.
- Experience working in an analyst role, OR any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position
- Skill in oral and written communication including conducting and end-user and formal and informal training
- Ability to take initiative to complete necessary tasks and/or improvements in a timely manner
- Demonstrated skill in analysis and problem solving, discovering root cause, and producing fully developed quality recommendations to decision makers.
- Experience in system development and testing
- Demonstrated skill at working collaboratively, creating relationships, building trust and rapport with others
- Experience working with Microsoft Power tools including Power Automate, Power Query, Power Apps, Power BI, etc.
- Experience with clinic and operational workflows and system workflow development.
- Experience working in Public Health operations and/or multiple programs and services
