The King County Parks and Recreation Division is accepting applications for a Term-Limited-Temporary (TLT)/ Special Duty Assignment (SDA) Grants Analyst who will support the administration of over $100M grant portfolio. The Grants Analyst works collaboratively with various internal and external partners to support our grant-making lifecycle. This position plays a key role in processing grant applications, developing contractual agreements, evaluating financial transactions, and preparing program reports according to standard operating procedures and requirements. The Grants Analyst position is part of the Community Investments Unit which is a growing team of 12 staff members. We value and invest in community partnership that increase access to parks, recreation, and open space throughout King County. Grants and partnership opportunities include capital improvements (parks, open spaces, facilities, trails) as well as increased access to recreational facilities and programs. The Community Investments Unit includes the following six Parks Grant programs:- Youth Amateur Sports Grant (YASG)
- Community Partnership Grant (CPG)
- Parks Capital and Open Space Grant
- Aquatics Facilities Grant
- Open Space and Rivers Corridor Grant
- Targeted Equity Grant

Duration: This Term-Limited-Temporary (TLT)/ Special Duty Assignment (SDA) position is anticipated to be up to three years in duration.
- TLT: Open to the public and all King County employees
- SDA: Open to current King County career service or appointed employees who have passed their initial probationary period.
Employees must reside in WA state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection (access may be supplemented in some situations) where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required by the department in alignment with the Public Health Directive from the Seattle & King County Public Health Officer. King County is doing its part to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and remains committed to reducing our carbon footprint.
Work Location: Primarily teleworking and the King Street Center 201 S. Jackson St., Seattle WA 98104.
Work Schedule: This position is covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible. This full-time position works a 40-hour work week.- Job Duties
Applying equity and social justice principles is a daily responsibility and a foundational expectation for all King County employees. In this role, you will apply equity and social justice principles that exemplify shared values, behaviors, and practices to all aspects of the work including to:
- Provide administrative support and customer service throughout the grant-making process.
- Coordinate the development of contractual agreements with diverse community partners scope of work, budgets, project timelines, deliverables, invoices, and grantee reports.
- Manage filing system for grant applications and contracts to ensure complete and accurate documentation.
- Coordinate with Finance to comply with fiscal and contractual requirements, standards, and protocols.
- Oversee grant management system and documentation to ensure comprehensive audit-ready files.
- Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
Required Qualifications:
- Experience related to finance, business administration, grants management or other closely related field.
- Knowledge of Federal, State and/or local grant regulations, guidelines and laws.
- Skilled in managing business operations, financial processes, and/or projects.
- Experience utilizing online systems for managing grants, contracts, projects and/or customer relations (Salesforce, Foundant, Agiloft, Smartsheet, Oracle, Zoom Grants).
- Proven ability to incorporate equity, social justice and anti-racism principles.

The Most Competitive Candidates Will Have:- Knowledge of grant management principles and practices.
- Skilled working with diverse community partners including nonprofits, local jurisdictions, school districts, tribal organizations, community coalitions, or emerging community-based organizations.
- Expertise in developing/implementing recommendations that promote work efficiencies, improve internal coordination, and support excellent customer service.
- Skilled in managing business requirements according to standard operating procedures.
- Expertise analyzing data and developing reports for various audiences and purposes.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High attention to detail to ensure accurate and complete grant materials, contracts, and reports.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, and web-based tools.
