Immunization Program Site Visitor & Vaccine Depot Manager
- Summary
This is a TLT/SDA position that reports to the Immunization Program Healthcare Branch Manager in the Communicable Disease Epidemiology and Immunization Section. The incumbent performs COVID-19 Vaccine Program site visits with enrolled clinics in King County utilizing pre-designed assessment methodologies. The incumbent evaluates clinic data to determine whether current COVID-19 Vaccine program policies and procedures regarding vaccine ordering, reporting, inventory management, and vaccine dose documentation are effectively carried out by the practice. The incumbent is also responsible for managing the King County Vaccine Depot, including vaccine inventory ordering and tracking, facilitating redistribution of vaccine and ancillary supplies to requesting providers, and temperature and cold chain management. This position is based at the Chinook Building and also involves frequent travel to health care settings that provide immunization services within King County.

- COVID-19 VACCINE PROGRAM QUALITY ASSURANCE SITE VISITS
- Schedule COVID-19 Vaccine Program compliance site visits.
- Following training provided by the State Dept of Health, conduct COVID-19 Vaccine Program compliance site visits at clinics throughout King County. Following the initial training, the incumbent will conduct audit-type reviews of clinics enrolled in the COVID-19 Vaccine Program. The review includes all immunization-related functions within the practice: vaccine ordering and receiving, storage and handling, administration, and documentation. The incumbent will use the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) REDCap Site Visit Reviewer Tool to document responses and findings. The review process includes specific follow-up actions upon the discovery of non-compliant immunization practices.
- Respond to providers seeking guidance on COVID-19 Vaccine Program requirements and protocols as a follow-up to their compliance site visit.
- Participate in site visit reviewer training webinars and meetings hosted by the Washington State Department of Health Office of Immunization.
- Valid Washington State Driver's License and the ability to drive a county vehicle to locations in and outside King County.
VACCINE DEPOT MANAGEMENT- Understand storage and handling requirements for all vaccines
- Maintain inventory of COVID-19 vaccines and other vaccines as needed
- Use the Washington Immunization Information System (WAIIS) to advertise vaccine available for transfer, to order vaccine, reconcile inventory, and transfer vaccine
- Respond to provider requests for vaccine, package vaccine and needed ancillary supplies, and prepare coolers and digital data loggers for transport
- Coordinate transportation of doses with the requesting provider
- Monitor vaccine refrigerator and freezer temperatures
- Manage vaccine waste
- Ability to lift and carry up to 65 pounds.
IMMUNIZATION HEALTHCARE BRANCH SUPPORT- Conduct provider outreach and provide technical assistance to King County vaccine providers
- Develop and maintain reference materials to support provider technical assistance
- Track and maintain up-to-date summaries of King County vaccine providers, vaccine allocations, and vaccine inventory available for transfer
- Support vaccine transfers, connecting providers with available vaccine in the county
- Data entry, quality assurance review, and simple analysis using tools such as REDCap and Excel
- Attend and participate in Communicable Disease Epidemiology and Immunization Section staff meetings and other department meetings.
- Participate in emergency responses for vaccine preventable disease outbreaks.
- Create an environment that fosters open communication, teamwork, commitment to quality service, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

- Knowledge about vaccine preventable diseases
- Ability to provide independent advice and guidance to health care professionals and the public within area of expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and carry out assignments and responsibilities reliably in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner
- Experience working on projects with complex technical aspects that change regularly
- Demonstrated good judgement and comfort in making independent decisions, while understanding limitations and elevating as needed in the absence of information
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate orally and in writing with supervisor, co-workers, healthcare providers, and the general public.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint) and
- Valid Washington State Driver's License and the ability to drive a county vehicle to locations in and outside King County.

- Experience with utilizing spreadsheets, or other tools, for tracking and maintaining rapidly changing information
- Experience with the storage and handling of vaccines
- Experience with conducting clinical audits or quality assurance visits
- Knowledge of vaccine preventable diseases, domestic immunizations programs, and vaccine delivery systems
- Experience in adapting local, state, or federal guidance and developing reference materials for partners and stakeholders

This position is open to all qualified applicants. We are currently recruiting for 1 full time Special Duty Assignment or Term Limited Temporary Position.
Term-Limited Temporary positions are "at-will" positions but are eligible for benefits. This TLT is currently funded through June 30th, 2023. However, funding sources for this work remain uncertain and dependent upon decisions actively being made at both the federal and local levels. Work Schedule
The individual selected for this position will have a work schedule between the hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. This position FLSA Non-Exempt and is eligible for overtime.
Work Location:The home base for this position is Chinook Building located in Downtown Seattle, Chinook Building, 401 5th Ave., Seattle.
