- King County District Court ProfileKCDC is the largest and most technologically advanced Court of Limited Jurisdiction in the State of Washington. It currently processes approximately 200,000 matters per year with 25 elected judges and roughly 260 employees at 8 courthouse locations. The Court is a leader in many areas involving public safety and access to justice, including the use of problem-solving courts, jail-alternative programs, technology- and judge-managed probation services. Fourteen cities contract with King County for court services provided by KCDC.Position SummaryKing County District Court is seeking one Term-Limited Temporary IT Systems Specialist who will be responsible for providing first and second-level technical support of computerized systems and related devices for King County District Court. Responsibilities include answering help desk calls for internal users and the public, responding to help desk tickets, deploying new equipment, and updating forms and website information. This position will also escalate the most complex issues to the Systems Engineers or Applications Developers.This position is expected to last through March 31, 2023.
- Job Duties
- Diagnose and resolve problems for end users in person, by phone, email or remotely
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, applications, networking, and other issues.
- Repair computers, printers and other peripherals.
- Maintains Help Desk tickets providing problem solving support and thorough resolution for end user issues. Follow up to ensure effective problem resolution for referred unresolved problems with appropriate specialized IT staff or vendors
- Deploys new equipment and inventory.
- Updates forms and website information.
- Perform or participate in end user support and related IT systems projects.
- Sets up and installs apps on county cell phones.
- Diagnoses phone malfunctions.
- Troubleshoots wi-fi connectivity problems.
- Sets up and instructs usage of audio-video equipment.
- Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
- Ability to communicate technical processes and terminology with people of varying technical knowledge.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize various priorities.
- Experience with using VPN.
- Demonstrated experience installing, modifying, and repairing computers.
- Associates degree, A+ certification, and two years tech support experience OR an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the responsibilities of the job.

- Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The vision abilities required to perform this position include close vision.
- Working Conditions: Work is typically performed in an office environment with a moderate amount of noise (computers, printers, light traffic). This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
- Work schedule: Regular, working a 40-hour workweek. Responsibilities occasionally may require working additional hours in order to meet deadlines. After hours, on-call support is required.
- Work location: Seattle, Washington - King County Courthouse, 516 3rd Ave., Seattle, WA 98104. NOTE: IT System Specialists may be assigned to work at any District Court location, which include: Shoreline, Seattle, Redmond, Issaquah, Bellevue, Burien, Auburn or Kent (MRJC).
