- Summary
- **This is a Special Duty Assignment (SDA)/Term Limited Temporary (TLT) opportunity that is expected to last approximately 18 months.**We are seeking collaborative, results driven, critical thinker with high attention to detail to work as a member of our technical support team. This team is responsible for insuring that the critical King County 911 Communications Center facility and systems are well maintained, secure, and fully operational at all times. As a specialized IT Systems Specialist (CAD System Administrator), this person will support a 24/7 mission critical lifeline system for the community and law enforcement officers by; maintaining and enhancing the CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) system and other supporting systems and equipment in the Public Safety sector.

This assignment is expected to last approximately 18 months. Typical work schedule is 40-hours per week, Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Additional hours may be necessary to respond to workload needs, which may include evenings and weekends. Candidates must be available to be on-call after hours for urgent and critical situations.

- Job Duties
- Produce and maintain CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) documentation and user manuals. Participate in and deliver end-user training.
- Maintain CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) user data
- Work with users and vendors to identify issues. Research, troubleshoot simple and complex problems including CAD issues and Mobile Dispatch Computers (MDCs) used by police units.
- Work with Communication Center GIS Specialist to insure Computer Aided Dispatch system geofile accuracy.
- Provide technical design, management and maintenance of the Computer Aided Dispatch system, radio and logging recorder systems. Insure efficiency and security of those systems and other specialized components on a 24/7 basis.
- Perform basic networking troubleshooting.
- Coordinate and test necessary program changes, updates and corrections.
- Work with KCSO Units when necessary to validate statistical data collection.
- Accurately, with an emphasis on detail, document and track system problems and changes.
- Manage system file maintenance to maintain integrity and user security.
- Provide other software application support for the 911 Communications Center.
- Work as a part of a team dealing with facility issues in addition to network, computer, telephony, and power systems.
- Perform research for and production of copies of logged and recorded historical events upon receipt of department, court or public disclosure requests.

- Ability to exercise discretion with confidential information and sensitive issues
- Experience with techniques and best practices for hardware and software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of techniques and methods for system analysis and maintenance
- Ability to test and support a variety of specialized system, software, components and devices
- Intermediate knowledge of Windows 10 operating systems, including applying updates.
- Intermediate knowledge of virtualization.
- Basic network configuration and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience executing back-up media rotations.
- Experience creating detailed technical documentation and logging experience with high attention to detail.
- Skill in providing consistent, accurate, friendly and professional technical support to non-technical customers.
- Experience interpreting applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Talent in continuous improvement strategies with a focus on customer experience.
- Communicate honestly and effectively with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Computer Aided Dispatch Configuration and Support Knowledge.
- Experience in Public Safety Communications.
- Active Directory Management to include; OU & GPO policy management.
- Utilizing common cyber security tools such as; CIS, Vulnerability scanners.
- Experience in Database Management and Analysis to include; SQL queries & SSRS designs.
- Basic GIS knowledge.
- Knowledge of virtualization.
- Knowledge of software development & integration.
- Experience implementing technical projects.
- Experience in creating technical documentation
- Project Coordination/Management Skills
