The PAO requires that all candidates reside in Washington State and within a reasonable distance to their primary county worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Work Schedule: This position works a 35-hour work week schedule, normally Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This position is eligible for King County’s generous benefits package and is covered by the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Salary: Range 38
(Step One) $23.6332- (Step Ten) $29.9566* Hourly
$1,654.10 - $2,096.50 Biweekly
$43,006.60 - $54,509.00 AnnuallyA general wage increase of 4.5% is anticipated later in the year following ratification of the tentative agreement between King County and the Coalition of Unions
Union Membership: Positions in this classification are represented by Teamsters Local No. 117.Application Process:

Special Requirements
Finalists must successfully submit to a criminal background check, reference check, and be fingerprinted.
*Employees with less than 2 years of service will receive .25 per hour less than the hourly salary table due to a mandatory contribution toward the Teamsters Pension Trust that was voted by members of the collective bargaining agreement between our office and Teamsters Local No. 117.
- Job Duties
Copy, scan, bundle, and organize voluminous amounts of discovery
Monitor discovery requests and maintain records of discovery compliance
Work closely with deputies, paralegals, and the Filing and Records units to ensure that discovery is handled in the proper manner
Assist the DXU paralegal in photocopying and burning discs for follow-up discovery
Assist in the future as we transition to other electronic programs that will affect our discovery process (e.g. eLodi, eDiscovery, Evidence.com)
Maintains bench warrants.
Actively participate in PAO equity work, attending equity trainings and discussions.
Provide support for the Equity and Social Justice policy and principles, work with PAO colleagues and management to identify opportunities for improvement.

Knowledge of the criminal justice system and general office principles and practices
Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal directions
Strong organizational skills and ability to complete a variety of tasks in an accurate manner with frequent interruptions
Ability to meet deadlines with attention to detail and to assume unscheduled and unexpected responsibilities
Ability to work independently or as part of a team, exercising initiative, and following through with work assignments
Customer service skills in person and via telephone (discretion, patience, etiquette, professionalism)
Skill in using computers and the ability to become proficient in the use of database programs such as PbK (with training), Word, Excel, and Adobe Pro
Demonstrated predictable, reliable, and timely attendance
Ability to accept supervision and feedback
Establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with management, co-workers, attorneys, law enforcement and the public
