The Regional Domestic Violence Firearms Enforcement Unit is a new and innovative Unit created to reduce harm and improve the swift and certain removal of firearms and Concealed Pistol Licenses (CPLs) from persons ordered to surrender firearms (or who are prohibited from possessing them) based on qualifying Protection Orders, Orders to Surrender Weapons or Extreme Risk Protection Orders. The unit is regional and multidisciplinary and is a collaboration between King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Seattle City Attorney’s Office, King County Sheriff’s Office and the Seattle Police Department. The LAS III will work as a member of the RDVFEU unit and will work alongside paralegals, victim advocates, deputies and unit detectives.About the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office:

Work Location: King County Courthouse, this position is eligible to work remotely but will work on-site as needed to meet the business needs of the unit, for example, calendar support, incoming/outgoing mail, unit supply distribution, unit business, on-site or in-person events, including case staffing, as scheduled.
The PAO requires for all employees to reside in Washington State and within a reasonable distance to their primary county worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Work Schedule: This position works a 35-hour work week schedule, normally Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This position is eligible for King County’s generous benefits package and is covered by the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.Salary: Range 44
(Step One) $27.2471- (Step Ten) $34.5374* Hourly
$1,907.30 - $2,417.62 Biweekly
$49,589.72 - $62,858.07 Annually
A general wage increase of 4.5% is anticipated later in the year following ratification of the tentative agreement between King County and the Coalition of Unions.
Union Membership: Positions in this classification are represented by Teamsters Local No. 117.

*Employees with less than 2 years of service will receive .25 per hour less than the hourly salary table due to a mandatory contribution toward the Teamsters Pension Trust that was voted by members of Teamsters Local No. 117.
- Job Duties
- Entering new cases, consults and other unit business into PbK and proactively identifying areas requiring PbK buildout based on unit priorities
- Assisting with the tracking of cases as they progress, including quality assurance, data integrity and oversight of proper case closures
- Assist with high-volume, weekly calendar preparation for the compliance review calendar, and others, as assigned
- Assisting paralegal, court order problem solver and advocates with case work or other projects, as assigned
- Providing support and back up to the RDVFEU paralegal
- Gathering and compiling statistical data for the Regional Domestic Violence Firearms Enforcement Unit for unit presentations, reports and other purposes, as assigned

- Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; ability to communicate professionally and effectively with individuals, groups and in the courtroom.
- Ability to work with diverse populations.
- Ability to exercise independent initiative and judgment and also function as a team player.
- Ability to problem-solve and identify needed procedural and policy changes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage voluminous and sensitive caseloads.
- Proficiency in WORD, EXCEL, and PBk with an emphasis on the ability to keep statistics.
- Skill to gather and interpret data from files, reports and other agencies and compile this information into an understandable format.
- Skill to maintain, within broad guidelines, an overview of complex processes involving many steps, and of each task from beginning to end; to obtain all information needed for completion and to set priorities.
