Logistics Section Support Branch Director (PPM II)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project/Program Manager II position within our Public Health response to COVID-19 in our Health and Medical Area Command known as “HMAC” for a Logistics Section Support Branch Director.

DUTIES- Coordinate the logical support, services, and supplies needed to maintain facility and agency operations;
- Oversee the Logistics Supply Unit consisting of the Intake, Ordering, and Status groups, as well as the Data Manager;
- Coordinate PPE orders and delivery between the Logistics Section and the warehouses;
- Maintain broad awareness of Supply Unit activities, PPE resource needs, and needs across Branches within HMAC;
- Coordinate logistical support needs with other Branch Directors within the HMAC Operations and Planning sections;
- Serve as liaison between King County Emergency Management (KCOEM)/ Health and Medical Area Command (HMAC) and the Washington State Emergency Management Division’s (WAEMD) Logistics Section, The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) and the DOH Testing Supply team;
- Process requests for testing supplies, including requesting supplies from DOH, keeping up to date on supply deliveries to the Warehouse, create and send picklists to the Warehouse for delivery, and follow-up with agencies about orders;
- Serve as the lead for supporting operational needs within the HMAC Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Allocation Team, the Testing Team, and the Long-Term Care Facility teams;
- Participate in strategy and procedure discussions to support rapidly changing response needs;
- Communicate priorities as directed by the Chief/Deputy to the Warehouse and Supply Unit;
- Collect and gather updates to share with Deputy Chief and Chief for weekly 214 reports;
- Report section priorities to Chief/Deputy and participate in Logistic Section meetings and provide updates on the section’s progress;
- Lead daily Branch meetings to ensure daily priorities are known and met;
- Provide additional support to the Unit as necessary;
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS NEEDED/DESIRED- Experience leading complex, separate, but wholly dependent, business processes;
- Strong time management and ability to prioritize multiple competing priorities;
- Demonstrated organizational skills;
- Strong oral and written communication skills and able to clearly articulate complex messaging. Ability to create, edit and proofread professional and/or legal documents with accurate grammar, spelling and formatting with a high attention to detail;
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor and composure. Ability to use tact and discretion in difficult communications;
- Ability to deal with ambiguity: and to effectively cope with change and shifting schedules; can adapt comfortably to changes in tasks and work environments
- Ability to maintain focus and composure under stress and tight deadlines
- Experience with process documentation;
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to delegate tasks to other employees, provide direction, training and monitor quality and completion of work;
- Skilled team player: who is cooperative; encourages collaboration; can solve problems with peers; can represent one's own interests while being fair to others;
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and Outlook. Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat.
WE’D LOVE IT IF YOU HAVE- Familiarity with WebEOC and Washington State’s Resource Tracker;
- Familiarity with current COVID response strategies;
- Public Health and King County emergency response experience;
- ICS trained.

This Special Duty Assignment (SDA) / Term Limited Temporary (TLT) position is open to all qualified applicants. Internal and external applicants are encouraged to apply. WORK SCHEDULE AND LOCATION
This position is full-time, 1.0 FTE and non-exempt and are overtime-eligible. Weekend and evening work required. Work location is King County Emergency Operations Center in Renton, WA with telework/remote work available.
